Now the forecast has Saturday to be partly cloudy and 80 degrees with the rain only on Friday. It’s obviously too early to nail it down.
That is the wrong attitude.
Would you rather have good seats at a lesser bowl, or worse seats at a better bowl? Buying tickets through Iowa State is what has helped Iowa State jump over other teams to get in these better bowls.
I will also make the argument that it is more fun to sit with Cyclone fans, than it is to have better seats among locals that have little interest in the game. The best chance to be surrounded by Cyclone fans is by going through Iowa State.
I know it's not an option for everyone, but the key to better seats in the Cyclone allocation is to increase your Cyclone Club donation.
Some of the P-level seats have club amenities. I found this described on a review website. It sounds like the CenterState Club is similar to the SEZ Club. The Open-Air Club has the same amenities, but is not climate controlled.
From the middle seating tier, the Plaza level sideline sections offer excellent views near midfield and an optimal viewing height for being able to see all areas of the field. With fewer rows per section (no more than 20 lettered rows in each - starting with Row A in front) these seats are a great option for fans that prefer easy access to and from their seats during a football game. These sections are also among the best for finding shade at Camping World Stadium, with the overhanging Terrace Level deck providing the best protection in the higher rows near midfield. Many seats in sections near midfield will come with club amenities. All clubs have wider, more comfortable seating and access to private restrooms. The front rows of sections P33-P35 and P7-P9 will be a part of the CenterState Club which have an extra benefit of a climate controlled concourse to help fans escape any inclement weather. All other seats in sections P6-P10 and P32-P36 will be a part of the Open-Air Club.
It appears the locations allocated to the teams for the Camping World Bowl are better than what you normally see at bowls according to the map. We shall see if those sections are filled with Cyclone fans or if Cyclone fans were only allocated a small portion of the those sections. As I fan I don't like it, but the bowl sponsors have a right to expect good seats for their sponsorship money. Without it some of these bowls don't exist.
Agreed, I think our fans are generally going to be more pleased than usual.
I'm particularly interested to see who has all the seats that aren't allocated to teams and have very few for resale. Seems like the sponsors (or somebody) actually wants to go to the game. Hope they aren't Catholic.
No, there's nothing wrong with that attitude. I've been a donor for 20+ years and I got burned at the last Liberty Bowl game when I bought my tickets through the Athletic Department.
I vowed never again. I'm not going to travel 2000 miles to watch my Cyclones play Notre Dame, spend a huge amount of money, and let the Athletic Department decide where I should sit. I bought my tickets via StubHub so I can be assured of sitting where I want to sit.
Most of us realize and are aware that it benefits Iowa State if as many fans buy through the university as possible. We definitely need to sellout our allotment.....and it is even better if we ask for more. Pollard mentions this often.
For the benefit of future bowl invites, most people aren't going to bad mouth that option (whether they personally end up going that route or not) and as you can see here, plenty of people are happy with the tix they received.
Same here. And for the last two bowls, Liberty and Alamo, we were still sitting with Cyclones.
Any update on ticket sales and /or estimated number ISU fans that will be there? Seems a lot quieter on this front than the last two years.
He posted a question on twitter and I responded that this is the 15 year wedding anniversary for my wife. We are driving >20 hours to watch the game. We don't get a lot of alone time together so these tickets would make it more memorable.
Our anniversary was in August and we just haven't had a chance to do anything so we decided the ISU bowl game would be our trip. I was pretty happy when I found out where they were. This is going to be an awesome experience!
