Casey's pizza box tabs

I have a friend who was back in Iowa for the first time in a few years and all she wanted to eat was Hy-Vee Chinese of all things.
I stock up on AE eggnog every year because we have kids that now live in Delaware, Missouri & Nebraska that don't have easy access to it. They go through gallons when they come to visit. :)

Never even paid attention to the box tabs until this Fall. Thanks to a better-informed friend, I now have 20 tabs from tailgate breakfast pizzas.

I honestly hate rewards cards and store apps. Give me my box top, let me pile them up in my junk drawer, held together by a rubber band, just like we've done for the last 30 years.

YEP! Or, like a few weeks ago, I dropped my kid off somewhere and there was a trash bin...and I noticed a casey's box.....with the tab still there....so, of course, I snagged it!

Just don’t do the dooshy thing if someone buys pizza for thanking people for help or a youth get together, do not tear them off for yourself before they hit the garbage. Know a few people who will open the boxes for the kids, tear off the tabs and pocket them. When someone orders 10-12 pizzas let them have them if they want them.

For sure!

I've seen a few times this play out...one time at work a office party and someone did the "let me consolidate these into one or two boxes" and then "dispose" of the old ones (i.e. lowkey grab the tabs) lol.

But yeah, if you see one in the trash....you grab it! :)

I get why it's probably easier to have the digital stuff to track trends, etc, but for Iowan's this certainly is "loss" of an age-old comfort/familiarity (i.e. junk drawer with these stacked up)

Side note/question: Any former casey's employees on the thread know....how do they monitor the boxes in storage at stores? Similar to places with "prize" pull tabs I'm sure like McDonalds Monopoly cups, etc.

Speaking of that. A friend in college worked at subway and would keep all the full cards that were turned in (he had thousands). We would go to the bar, he'd hand the bartenders a hand full of free sub cards and we'd drink for free.

Not an employee but growing up, my best friends mom ran a store in our area, at that time, once turned in, they weren't really accounted for, his house always had a drawer with a dozen or so free pizzas in it. It was a very popular sleepover destination.
