You’re underplaying how bad it looked last night. We love to make fun of Fran, and rightfully so, but he’s owned Prohm in the series.

That’s not exactly an endorsement of Prohm. Mac owned Ferentz simply due to timing... he was essentially gifted the first 4 wins.
Who by the time he retired had left a shell of a roster to Ferentz.
Essentially the opposite is happening now in basketball. Supposedly* ISU has superior talent. That wasn’t the case for Ferentz’ first seasons.

You're both wrong. Fry was probably Iowa's greatest coach but that's a weak argument here given that his program had declined significantly by the time he retired.
That said, Ferentz had two bad years before they were back to being bowl-eligible in 2001. In 2002 ISU was his only loss. That's hardly "gifting" wins to ISU.
Apples and oranges to this situation.
Oh yes sorry, three wins were “gifted.” I mistakenly counted ‘98.
Point stands though that during those early Ferentz years ISU had a distinct talent advantage. I’d include 2001 in that advantage.
Lets consider ourselves lucky Seton Hall’s starting big man only played a total of about 2 minutes in that game.

We beat Seton Hall after they lost an 18 ppg player in the first 5 min of that game. That’s the kind of luck we will need to beat most teams this year.

Right, 1-1 at home with a blowout loss and a win against a weakened top-30 team isn’t unexpected.
This also exemplifies why some aren’t high on Prohm. They’re not surprised by this week, and that’s an issue in itself.
Expected or not, Hopefully this is an abbreviation in play. Missing the tournament would be a bad trend imo.
