Anything can happen. It course we can lose but we're the better team and we're at Hilton plus I think this team is tougher than any team we've had in recent memory.

Did I see Bobo is hurt? Iowa will use that excuse, forgetting Solomon Young and Wiggs were out for the full game last year while Iowa's thug coach threw a ringer out there.

That ringer can't play but he does hate ISU.

The concern with doubling Garza is Iowa has a couple guys who will knock down the 3 if our rotation is a half second slow. Garza can have 30 points but if we are getting a steal/block/TO from Iowa’s guards every 5-6 possessions it won’t be enough.

No put Haliburton on McCaffrey or Toussaint and dare those guys (heck beg them) to shoot from 3. I run Haliburton on the double all night long on Garza and pin Nixon on Bohannon. Make the Hawks play left handed.

Nixon guard Fredrick instead of Bohannon. Bohannon has 0 lateral quickness in his current state so I would rather put Bolton on him because it would be a waste of Nixon’s tremendous on ball defense to guard a guy who won’t even try to try to drive the ball.

It should be noted that Iowa will be playing its 6th straight game against a Power 5 team in the last 14 days. Iowa State should have the fresher legs. Bohannon isnt mobile anymore either so he wont be able to create his own shot and Frederick is banged up also.

Mildly disagree. Nixon has quick hands, gets up on a guy, and gets in his hair... not so good at keeping in front of him though. I think Bolton would get lost too often chasing JorBo. I'd put Nixon on the shooter who can't drive.

Garza was a beast last night vs Michigan, if we get refs that allow the physical type of play, and allow Garza to move his pivot foot on his moves to the basket, we could be in trouble.

Its going to come down too which team is hitting from 3 point land.

Game is at Hilton, but Iowa will come in thinking SUPER BOWL, and will be sky high for the game. I say ISU by 5 pts.
This is just wrong. We want refs that allow physical play. Garza shot 13 free throws against Michigan (and I guarantee not all of them were clear fouls.) Plus, we are not going to get Garza in foul trouble when they hide him in the middle of that zone. Also, I don't see any single one of Iowa's guards beating Nixon or Jackson off the dribble.

JBo is shooting 34% overall and 35% from 3.

CJF is shooting 58% overall and 52% from 3.

I think he'd have no problem staying in front of CJF. He's not Powell at all. Plus he's got quick and active hands that could hopefully get the freshman out of his comfort zone.

Two things I know: Bohannon will shoot out of his ass and then redshirt, and Pemsl will be his usual goon self and try to start a fight. I think that we want Nixon to chase around bohanon all day and Bolton to stay with their PG. Haliburton will get Weiskamp and his length will help there. For Garza, we will need Solo to hold is ground and make him shoot over. Conditt will get in foul trouble if he tries for many blocks on Garza, so just put his hands up and make Garza make tough shots. Absolutely do not double. We have the bigs to make him work for it...you just can't leave their shooters open. Michigan had the blueprint.

MW isn't a p5. still 4/5 against p5, which is a grind this early

Sandro going out was pretty big. Line guess for Thursday?
Dunno. See if Iowa takes care of Minny, which they should. I'll guess tomorrow.

If Iowa wins tonight by 4-7 points I think it will be ISU -5.

Should be an excellent game on Thursday. They will throw a lot of different zone looks at ISU so it is important ISU moves the ball and gets into the teeth of the zone. Also, I hope Conditt stays out of foul trouble because I think he could be huge against Garza with his shot blocking ability.
