ROAD RECAP: Breece Hall's three TDs help ISU cruise 38-14 at WVU

Ironic that last weeks story was Lang becoming Iowa States workhorse back. Then Breece plays so good Lang didn’t even hardly see the field
Luckily, I didn't fall into that trap and wrote about other things. But, yes, that became the overarching media narrative. I happen to think it's great that there's more than one guy to lean on at tailback ... differing styles, a handful of good playmakers.

Think the coaches have proven they’ll go with the “hot hand.” Lang looked good last week, while Breece was key to today’s win

There's been years where there was a lot of hype around ISU's receiving core without much actually there and right now there's some hype but even better it's guys that can make some plays.

Don't know much about Pettway's time before ISU but he comes across as a guy that just wants to play some ball and gets what he can.

I found it especially encouraging Dylan Soehner was hit on an intermediate route for 20-plus yards. All three TEs are damn good safety valves, while Kolar and Allen (if healthy) are bona fide playmakers.

I wonder if Soehner could make his way into the end of the draft next year. He’s not going to put up big numbers but you’d think with his attributes he could maybe help a team in a specific role plus special teams.

Agreed. Key is staying healthy. Early in his career he was dinged up a bunch. That might make teams leery.

I think getting drafted is a long shot but he’s a great value to a lot of teams and will get a chance as an UDFA.

Lang is good when he has a wide open hole, seems to go down at "First Contact." Not sure how many tackles Hall actually broke but he seemed to have a pile of people attached before he went down.
