yall are way too focused on the 5-0
forget the 5-0
2017 5-7
2018 7-6
2019 5-0 [probably finish 9-4?]

but its the way the team looks and the excitement he is building up there
also love the idea of 'sunday night football'

according to rivals:
team recruiting ratings
2018 -> 43
2019 -> 41
2020 -> 29
2021 -> 17

Their schedule is hot garbage.

I mean, they're 5-0 and unranked. How often has that even happened (5-0 P5 team being unranked)?

Look at Kansas Orange Bowl season. They started out 5-0 and unranked. They basically played one good team that year and that was Missouri. Kansas State was decent that year.

and the slogan is 'row the boat ski u mah'

its one continuous phrase

and actually fits because the origin of ski u mah was from canoe races on Lake Minnetonka which just so happens to be the lake where PJ Fleck just bought a house.

you cant stop this train haters

pj fleck and minnesota football are destiny

Nebraska, Rutgers on the road, and Maryland coming up. Will be favored in all of those. Good shot at 8-0 before they play Penn State.

The final four games, Penn State, Iowa, NW and Wisconsin will determine an okay year versus a good year.

A legit douche? Yes, yes he is.
Agree with both of the above. He seems really slimy but you can only play who is in front of you. In another thread there was talk of how important being ranked is to get exposure - well his team is now ranked (albeit unjustified) and he will use that to his advantage. For Minnesota if they win 8 games that would be the next step in the progression of his program - I hope at some point it all unravels on him because he seems to be so phony.

The teams they've played are 11-13, if you take out SDSU it's 7-12. There's a pretty legit argument that the best team they'll play will be SDSU until November. When two bad teams play one of them gets a win, and Minnesota has been winning those coin flips.

They'll probably lose to Nebraska or Maryland, but if not we'll find out if they're a result of an awful division or if they're actually good.

Heads in the sky
FCS and D2 are the same thing. So Yeah they may not be D2 but they are a whole level below us in the FCS ranks. If you are trying to say Minnesota has not played anyone, then brag about our wins. You are failing because we have beat lesser teams. TCU is down this year and everyone knows it.

No, FCS and division 2 are not the same thing.

The best FCS teams are better than lots of FBS teams, including several power 5 teams. There's obviously not a lot of data points, but year after year the likes of NDSU, SDSU, UNI, James Madison and others are ranked above the worst few P5 teams in power rankings. Not to mention NDSU and James Madison have a lot more NFL guys than the likes of ISU, Minnesota, TCU and other solid P5 teams. There are enough under the radar guys and transfers that want to be eligible immediately to make these teams good. Factor in the typical super bowl factor FCS teams have, and you get plenty of upsets.

With that said, Minnesota got really lucky against SDSU and they were fortunate to escape with these wins. They have played a soft schedule, and that's going to continue. Nebraska and Northwestern aren't good football teams. I'm not so sure Martinez being out is a big negative over Vedral. Martinez is a turnover machine and has really regressed.

I don't think it can be overstated just how bad Rutgers is. Any FBS coach that loses to Rutgers this year should be fired on the spot. Worst P5 team of all time possibly. Last years Kansas dumpster fire completely dismantled Rutgers, and this years team might be worse.
