Official ISU-Nebraska Post Game Thread

Ouch. Just got home from the game.

The offense obviously played horrid, but I think the real story of the the day was the defense's failure to even touch Ganz on 99% of the plays today. Other than that, the defense didn't play THAT bad.

The defense gave up OVER 500 YARDS TODAY.

THAT.....is BAD.

Do you think that Chizik is making the most of the situation? I would say that he isn't. Just my two cents. I like this team, I think that it would be better with Bates. I don't like the coaching. I don't like kicking a field goal in the red zone midway through the 4th down by two touchdowns when the offense hasn't been moving the ball all day. I don't like the slow adjustments or no adjustments.

That's the point, how many coaches in a row must you support while they do nothing but lose before you expect some positives? I supported Walden while I was at ISU. Fifteen years (of mostly losing) later and I'm beginning to run out of patience.

So after fifteen years of mostly losing you expect a first-time head coach to come in and turn everything around in less than two years?

The D had no chance for a good game because our offense couldn't stay on the field for more than 8 plays at a time.

I expect the University to put a winning team on the field. It hasn't done that and hasn't shown any indications that it will do so in the near future.

While I agree, the offense had a total of 2 first downs in the 1st half and 9 in the 2nd half. It's hard for a young defense to hold up under those conditions.

They aren't good, but they got absolutely no help from the offense today. They did get some stops in the 2nd half, but absolutely no points from the offense.

Michigan State has a winning record and they're playing a perrenial conference power.

We just got besmirched by a very mediocre team.

Michigan St also has something we don't have right now - a surplus of talent.

And for those that think McCarney would be doing a better job - he's the reason why we don't have that talent - and why Chizik's having to rebuild this program from the foundation up.

OK all you Capt. Kirk lovers (comparing records), so then we should expect 7-5 next year?
