The Twins have added some nice pieces but the young core of Buxton, Sano, Rosario, Polanco and Kepler have to produce. And if we can find a closer, step aside Cleveland.

I think we need more than a closer but I like where your head is at

The big "if" with their starting pitching is Michael Pineda. Hopefully that gamble pays off this year.

Its cliche to say if everything goes right they could win the division. But with no clear cut contender to the Indians, the Twins do have the pieces that if everything goes right, they could win it.

Indians have a decent amount of injuries so would be nice to win this series out of the gate. Above all else, just avoid getting swept. Not terrible to get some games with the Indians out of the way.

Calling my shot, I'm going to say Twins go 87-75 and just barely squeak into the WC2 spot. Of course they'll probably get the yankees again....

They'll score enough runs, I think. Cruz, Schoop, Cron add much needed pop. Might be a lot of K's, though.

It will be interesting to see how Rocco handles that closer role....early on it could be tryout city. Let's just win today, and go from there!

If buxton can hit a breaking ball and sano doesn't lead the league in Ks and the rotation doesn't implode, yes. Yes we could.
Also, the bullpen needs to be functional and either Garver's defense or Castro's offense needs to be adequate.

If they can stay healthy. The Twins always seem to have a lot of players with lingering injuries throughout the season. Go Twins!

Totally fine with letting the designated closer role fall into the trash heap of history if that's what Rocco decides.

Yeah I'm gonna hate to see solid starting pitching, when we do actually get it this year, go to hell because of a crappy pen. I like Rodgers but I need to see more before I trust him.
