Hoiberg to Huskers

Just had a text convo with my Grandma:

Grandma: “What do Lincoln and Ames have in common?”

Me: “IDK”

Grandma: “Fred isn’t going to be living in either city in 2019.”

Take it for what it’s worth but Grandma has some deep old school ISU connections.

Sounds legit. Ask her if Hoffa is buried somewhere on campus.

I'm not sure about Randy P's recent sleuthing and the Michigan State / Jack Hoiberg connection. I'm finding it a little hard to believe that Nebraska is holding off on announcing because Fred and Carol want to go to watch Jack play cleanup duty at a tourney game.

Especially since they came on Thursday but not on saturday.

Miles was fired about 24 hours ago and no announcement on Fred so maybe it wasn't quite the done deal that people were reporting.

I think he's done a fine job as a coach but odd that's the job he takes. From Wisconsin to Michigan to Buffalo......to Bama?
I feel like regionally, its a weird move.

He is still a good coach. That's a good choice for them. I think he'll do well.

Sounds like the Nebraska AD said the timetable for a new hire is 7 to 14 days. Just guessing here, but maybe Fred wants to follow his son's team through the NCAA tournament run and doesn't want to take away from that experience by being hired for a new job in the middle of it. 7 days would be the end of the Sweet 16/Elite Eight and 14 would obviously get you through the Final Four. My best guess is Fred is named the Husker coach sometime shortly after Michigan State's run ends.

Wide open check-book? Just stop. If this is true then why did JP say there was limitations on what we could pay CFH and that the pay increases would be passed along to the fans during the Cyclone Tailgate tour. Not sure I disagree with JP about the limitations but I thought it was BS for him to say this publicly.

Really?

Maybe because he wanted to make sure to give Fred an out. If you have any sort of connection, you know that money would have been there.

Trying to protect a guy that never had any intention of staying here, who benefitted from coaching here as much as Iowa state benefitted from it (had no path to nba job without paying dues).

Just quit making stuff up. This is as bad as trying to pretend Jameel was injured and that was why he didn’t practice.

Fred's son most likely won't see any time and is already behind the ball recruiting wise. He can still sign the contract and support him.

As a parent I get what you are saying but if he is your guy, you name and sign him so he can make the rounds at the Final Four.
Power 5 job>>>>>>>>Your son riding the pine.

They already have shirts for when Hoiberg doesn't take the job.
