Sometimes for my lunch I’ll just go to Menards and walk around

Me and a few co-workers do the exact same thing.

Carhartt is soooo unnecessarily bulky. There are technologies that North Face, Patagonia, and other companies are using that are so much better and that you can actually walk in and move your arms freely.

True but they aren’t as durable and I don’t feel like I’m throwing money away if I get them dirty/oil soaked/etc. I can get a set of Berne overalls for 60 bucks. Can’t come anywhere close to that in Patagonia, marmot, NF...

Close to an inch of rain since midnight in CR. Trees are covered in ice and starting to have some flooding issues in some areas. Reports of cars stalled out in standing water on highway 100 near Xavier HS.

SE CR is a mess. I attempted to get out and do a few errands, but between trees down over roads and other roads flooded, I gave up and went home.

I didn't make it that far south, but 1st Ave was fine. I'm sure there are some good sized ponds down there, but I would guess most things will proceed as planned.

Here in Amana there is no ice. Just lots of rain. Ditches filling up. I made sure earlier to clear away my underground outlets for the gutters and sump pump. Glad I did as both appear to have been extensively used this morning.

Looks to me like the two low pressure areas dis not combine. So that takes the worst possible conditions will probably not occur. Happy this is staying in western iowa.

Menards is one of the great retail stores left in America. I was so glad that when we moved to OH there is a location like 5 minutes from me.

I’ve bought a lot, a lot of stuff at Menards over the years but they do have a lot of lower quality stuff.
I mean, you can’t even find a single DeWalt tool in the whole store.

If it’s basic framing lumber I’ll go but if I need something straight and square I don’t go there. I’ve spent way too much time digging thru inside and outside wood racks.

Like both those products but they don't seem to have the durability of a good quality canvas product. Both have their place.

I agree. Menards has a very poor selection of power tools. They handled DeWalt at one time but got dropped.

Our local Menards appears to becoming more of a grocery store with a recent remodel.

Not sure how well North Face and Patagonia would do on the farm. Probably last about 2 weeks before it got all torn up and useless.

Perfect example of why missing out on significant snowfall is not "missing out on the worst of it". A foot of snow and no melting snow would be less worse then the rain and melting snow, changing over to snow and freezing temps by tonight and staying below freezing for the next 10-14 days.

It's 40 degrees here in CR and tree limbs are still falling because of the ice on them. It's raining now and I'm not looking forward to what happens once the temps fall below freezing later today. Roads around town are already flooded and certainly won't get better when it starts freezing.

A flooded road that turns to ice is bad. Nothing u can do but get the cars out now. We had this a week or two ago and had a nice layer of ice that just now melted.
