Why is Conditt not getting more minutes?

I was wondering why George Conditt is not getting more minutes. I know Lard is playing more and Jacobsen is playing quite a bit, but the past few games Conditt has really not played at all. I think he could have provided some valuable minutes against Kansas, especially with our foul trouble. I also think he would have at least gotten a few minutes against Ole Miss except for the last minute or two. I thought before the Kansas game he was playing pretty well. Would he possibly be in Prohm's dog house?

Lard, the last couple of games, is looking like the Lard we saw last year. Jacobsen is still better/more of a threat in the half-court offense. Lard seems to be getting his timing on the help-side D as a rim protector. Love Conditt's game and his promise for the future, but he is stuck behind those two guys and it looks like Prohm only wants to play one big at a time. Conditt can rim protect and love the way he runs the floor on the break.

I know there are good players ahead of him, but still thought he may get a few more minutes, especially with Lard in foul trouble (fouling out) and our inability to stop KU inside at the end of the game.

I agree with the OP. It would be best to get Conditt as much experience as possible. We could need him the next time Lard fouls out in 4 minutes. Does anyone think Jacobson should go 36 minutes in any game? Hopefully Lard continues his recent progress and Conditt can get more time.

Kansas was two games ago and that was a game to forget. Hopefully Lard can become more consistent and get back close to last year's form.

Conditt has good hands and is a good passer. I really like it when he's out there, but I'm sure he still has a ways to go on the little things that are harder to see as a fan watching on TV, especially on defense (and I seem to remember him getting called on some moving screens this year). I think we've also yet to see how he holds up against a big bruiser type down in the post. Most of his minutes have come when the other team is smaller or playing smaller.

OP, I am glad Conditt appears to be solid and will hopefully get more PT in the future, but it is hard for him to find more minutes when we basically play with 1 post for almost the entirety of the game. He's behind two really good players in Jacobson and Lard. I think we'll see some Conditt against teams with the right match ups; he's just a FR with two good players ahead of him.

If Lard would have been available, I think we would have seen some two post sets against KSU (they had Maween and Dean in there who are both two big posts that our posts can cover just fine and I think it hurt us that game not having Lard). I could also see us using it (Jacobson and Lard, for example) for decent periods of time against a couple other teams (like UT and WVU depending on their personnel at the time).

I hope Conditt stays engaged and realizes his time will come. I'd like to see Prohm find him some more minutes and try a few wrinkles with 2 big guys (as long as one of them is Jacobson typically since he's a threat from 15 ft.). Edit: I don't think 2 posts can work against nearly any foreseeable opponent if the posts are Lard and Conditt though, unfortunately. I think Jacobson will always have to be in there.

Jacobson is averaging about 27 minutes a game on the year and a little over 25 since conference play started. You could tell he was gassed in the Kansas game playing 34 minutes. I don't think he should ever go over 30.
