Not sure if anyone else has noticed this, but CenturyLink is currently experiencing a Nation-Wide outage, affecting internet and phone systems - including 911 emergency service - across multiple states. My phone system at work is CL and we are unable to place outgoing calls. It is quite the clusterf___ right now for them.

That's what my company uses as well. We can receive phone calls, but make outgoing calls.

Good thing I got switched away from them this year. The internet was actually faster than expected but their systems are terrible. Still have a router that they never came to claim.

Would be a real shame if the crooks that run Century Link were put away. Worst service providers out there.
I actually stumbled on this article that was just published this morning asking if there is possibly insider trading going on, because a whole bunch of CL stock has been sold in the past 3 months:

One does not necessarily have to have anything to do with the other. But it is apparent that people inside CenturyLink believe they are in for a longer term slide in their value.

Hopefully we don't find out in the near future that one of the largest telecommunications and internet providers in the country is compromised somehow.

Tis the season. Comcast cable partially crapped it pants last night although the internet connection was fine. Everything was all pixelated and jumpy. Had to turn the Gopher game off. Apparently it was nationwide also. Was okay later, if it had been during Alamo Bowl I'd have been pissed.

I can still remote in to my router from TX, so it must be at least somewhat working in DSM. Pretty funny/rather s***ty to have a Nationwide outage, though.

Hopefully this has disastrous consequences for that company, they are absolutely worthless. I've wasted countless hours making hundreds of calls to their customer service only to never have it fixed. They were the only high speed internet provider at our previous home so we had no choice but to deal with them, I'll never use them again.

An outage this large, I'm curious if it's terrorism. Normally an outage is restricted to a regional area when a large switch fails or the route plan gets messed up. But multiple outages across the country usually requires something pretty big to knock them offline.

CL sucks ass. They are the worst. It happened last night. I’ve seen some details, it’s still ongoing.

Unless their system is set up poorly where a critical problem in one area can affect many, many places.

I must be an odd one out here. I have had CL since way back when it was Quest. I'm guessing a little over 10 years. I can count on one had how many times I have had to call for an issue, and every issue I had was resolved on the phone and not one tech had to come out for a service call. I have lived in West Des Moines, Clive, and now Des Moines in this time frame.
