My project for the day:
89bNA8S.jpg

We have had this axe head floating around forever and we were using it as a wedge when we split wood. I ground the back of it back into shape after it had been mushroomed out from the sledge hammer and re-hung it on a new handle. Sharpened it up and it's as good as new. It was nice to get back to basics for a day. You don't need Calc 3 to hang an axe head and split firewood. I've always said if this Civil Engineering thing doesn't work out I'd be perfectly happy living in a cabin in the woods by myself.
Once in a while I'll get ambitious and take a few swings with the maul. I prefer the splitter though. I should have taken Forestry when I was at ISU, but at the time I saw it and thought it was dumb.

Apparently JoJo toys have to do with a Nickelodeon show

Ugh, I dislike this whole JoJo Siwa phenomenon at the moment. Just shows how dumb our country is. So basically a dance mom from Iowa gets her precious little JoJo on the infamous Dance Moms show. Both Mom and daughter look slightly cray cray (as does everyone on that show). Anyway, JoJo’s trademark is these stupid ass huge hairbows. Can’t really make it on this reality drama so JoJo records bad kids bop type songs, markets the hell out of herself and is now on every product imaginable. I know of at least two girls who went as JoJo for Halloween. Meanwhile JoJo is now 15 years old but still has to dress like this 9yr old persona she created. People will do anything for fame and money.

A Birdy rant, I love it. First heard of JoJo Sunday

.facebook person's child turned 7 and got mail from her as a gift. Much squealing in the video.

Not sure why it bugs me so much, but if my girls want to look up to someone it isn’t going to be someone like JoJo.

I have not worked in 15+ years—forgot how much food there is at an elementary school around Christmas. Granted, I brought in a big plate of goodies for my kids’ teachers and for my preschool coworkers so I am not helping the cause. I ate sugar all day long.

Google images tells me I would agree with you. That all looks obnoxious. I made cookies over the weekend and I should take some to the office/daycare and I'll probably do the latter.........but I also really want to eat them all myself.

The girls game was as ugly as expected. Nevada led 36-1 at halftime and won 47-10. Greene County was leading boys game by 10 halftime. This is I guess an ongoing promotion between high schools and Iowa Wolves. You paid 12 dollars which includes admission to high school game and a ticket to a wolves game. Tickets we were given were valued at $18 so if you go the wolves game you paid nothing except for gas to drive there. Sadly the wolves game is for the game on the 28th the same night as the Alamo bowl.

Stopped at Sonic on the way home for ice cream and I noticed a sonic worker taking an order to one of those parking stations. She was wearing a sonic shirt but it still a tad cold out and I meant to say she is going out without a coat. However I'm running low on sleep and mind went to sleep and I said she's going out without a shirt.

Don’t drive while sleeping.

Daycare sends a note saying "tomorrow is pajama day, have your child wear their favorite pajamas to school!"

........................so what does that say if I sent him in his pajamas today? And we did that pretty regularly until I was like maybe we should use the pants he got too. But like he literally woke up in his sleeper, didn't get spit up on it, DH had to be out early with me instead of his hour later deal.......kid went in his pajamas.
Aren't most infants in some sort of pj all day anyway?! It's probably a henerge note for all daycare.

This reminds me, I need to make sure I have the choosen PJs ready for school.

My parents heated their home with a woodburning stove (near Humboldt, until they moved to Wisconsin in 1992). So I remember many, many days of cutting wood, hauling wood, splitting wood, stacking wood, etc. My dad's favorite saying while we working at this was "This wood will warm us twice."

We had a fireplace until my junior year in high school. Nothing better than coming back from the farm, frizen, and sitting on the bricks in front of the fireplace and warm up.

The vixen and I are planning on adding a room to the back of the house, and we'll have a fireplace. We both agree that it will be a woodburner - there's nothing like that heat. Yeah, it'll be a lot of work for me, but heaven knows I could use the exercise. :)
