Bill Snyder finally retiring

The blocked PAT in 2009 was a clear case of leverage. It should have been half the distance to the goal and replay the try.

Yeah, don't want to relive all those horrible games, but the bottom line is officials screwed ISU in several of those games. They just really screwed ISU last year.

Klieman, DC Matt Entz and Courtney Messingham followed all incoming K-State recruits and current players and admin on Twitter yesterday afternoon. Hard to hide your intentions in the social media era.

New head coach at NDSU is going to be Tim Polasek, former OC there and current O-Line coach at Iowa.

Maybe it will be baby Ferentz and Polasek as OC to get baby some HC experience?

Obviously not serious here.

K-State's in great financial position. This is a narrative that doesn't make sense for that reason. Littrell wasn't offered the job and his handlers are making excuses why not. It's that simple.

I would agree they should be in pretty good shape since they don't have a bunch of fired coaches to pay, and have not gone crazy with facilities or salaries. Still, no matter what you spend, you need to find a guy that can at least maintain what Snyder did, and it will not be easy in Manhattan. Snyder seemed do win with smoke and mirrors more than talent a lot of years. Guys like that are hard to find.

IIRC, didn't Bill pound the JUCO circuit hard? I know Kansas has a solid JUCO system and it helped Bill, at least at first it did. Am I remembering this right? Does Klieman (NDSU coach) do this? I think if you don't want to change much, going to someone who is a HS recruiter would still be a high change.

It's not because the athletics department can't afford it. That's my point. It's not for a 'going cheap' strategy. He wasn't offered.

Are you saying KState never said this? It was the other coach that did? I honestly don't know.

Might this all be a way for Klieman to work his way back toward a job with another purple cat team? Sit on all the money he makes with K-State, then enjoy bringing UNI back to the top!

Venables wants to be a d'coordinator at Clemson and coach his son(s) there. When Dabo leaves for Alabama, Venables will be there to take over. It makes perfect sense to me. The number one team in the AAC, number two in the country, at $2 million per as head-coach-in-waiting or a middling B12 team following a legend?

Well, he would double that $2mil salary being at KState, and he'd be home.

At some point, money is not the driver. $2 million per year is a ton of jack for what is, in reality, a low responsibility job. And home is where you make it. I grew up in Sioux City, and it's the last place I'd want to live, work or retire.

You're saying money isn't the driver but then saying its a ton of jack.
And home is where you make it, sure. But IMO, he'd be a perfect choice if he wanted the job.

It's hilarious to see surly/tmcats doing his best Baghdad Bob impression here on CF and on the K-state message board.

Yes, at some point, money isn't driving the decision. See Abraham Maslow. Money's pretty low in the pyramid of needs.
