I expect Gomez and Miklus to be top 4. I expect Parker, Degen and Colbray to contend for AA status. I expect 125, 157, 174, 285 to qualify with potential to score points and be a dark horse for AA. If you don't have similar expectations then you are disrespecting the team and coaches. If we don't have similar results then I'm sure coaches would agree that the team under performed. The 5 AA candidates listed were all high quality recruits so it isn't like I'm expecting a walk-on to set the wrestling world on fire. I think we can even do better but this is my base line expectation.

I think Gomez will dominate most of them on his feet. It will all come down to his bottom Wrestling. Can he get out on guys like gross and lizak? That will determine how successful he is this year. This assumes he recovers quickly from injury.

Listen, I'm high on this team and coaching staff but that doesn't mean I need to have wild expectations as my baseline target for success. High level recruits don't pan out all the time. Several of these guys have the potential to be very successful, but we need to see that translate on the mat at the D-1 level.

I'm not bashing your for being optimistic on these guys because they all have the ability, but to say that that is the EXPECTATION is not fair. It would require a lot of the roster to jump level this year. Your "baseline" seems a lot like a near best-case outcome. Two top-4's w/ 3+ low AA or R12 type guys.

This isn't an overnight process to get back to the top 5-10. If we are able to get back to Top 20 this year I would count it as a very successful season.

In short, that's nuts. Lol at the "disrespect" comment. Just dumb. We root hard for them to reach their goals but it is hardly disrespect to make realistic predictions.

Would be awesome but your expectations are absolute best case scenarios. 133 is an absolute mix master. But you expect top 4? Miklus just finished 8th, has never been higher than 6th. 197 returns 5 guys that finished higher above him last year, adds Bo Nickal and Iowa's Warner...and he should be top 4 and if we think anything less we are disrespecting the entire program?
