So tomorrow I take the vixen to the Wolfe Surgery Center, where she will get the first of her two cataract surgeries done. She has worn glasses most of her life, and is super excited about not having to anymore (except for reading). She is also nervous - squeamish about having something done to her eyeball while she's conscious - and so I told her that it's pretty much like a colonoscopy, they give you something so that even though you are conscious, you don't remember anything. I don't know that she believes me.

Anyway, good thoughts and prayers would be most welcome. Heaven knows she deserves them!!!

Definitely sending them for her. When I had lasik done the first eyes pain killers didn’t take. Felt everything. My advice, she doesn’t want that.

Probably went too far, but I'm the one that opened the door, so don't feel bad. There are lots of interesting ideas that show up in the spam I get from Women's Health, Fitness, and Shape, so lots of things are on the table, including the table itself.

And... wow! I just can't keep myself from continuing this completely inappropriate side discussion, can I?

Edit: And saying some prayers for Vixen. I hope she comes out much happier on the other side of surgery!

I usually enjoy those ABCMouse ads, but this one is really cheesy or sleazy. I think they set a new level of mom-shaming.

This alleged teacher mom talks about how she started taking her daughter's education seriously at 2 years old while the commercial shows stuff that anyone would know 2 year olds aren't doing.

Probably making a few million off of that ad, but that one was really awful.

I don’t care if my kids aren’t brain surgeons or rocket scientists. They seem to be happy, they enjoy what they are doing and if they can take care of themselves later; I’m content with that.
