The problem with this is the ball wasn't anywhere near them, as was explained during the broadcast. If you throw an elbow in that situation and it hits the face, even if it's just to "get position", it's a red. Unless you're Ronaldo.
France looked far better, but just could not get anything through. Denmark had 1 shot on goal all match long.

That's the talk right now, that line of thinking always worries me, though. If I was a fan of their team I'd just want to play well haha, if they lose they lose.
Cristian Pavon literally just stands/walks around and watches unless he thinks he has a play on, or is going to get, the ball. If I played behind him on the right side I would be yelling at that dude constantly.
They literally held the ball for 3/4 of extra time and I really wanted to see Nigeria go thru.
Yeah, I wanted to see Iceland pull it out some how, but Argentina being in the round of 16 should be fun. But you can't be mad that a team is using gamesmanship, up one, in extra time, when they need to win to advance. I'm not a fan of the whole gamesmanship situation either, but that is one of the few times I agree with it haha, it's when it is an entire second half or the last 20 minutes, that is when it's infuriating.
Sweden up 2-0 on Mexico and playing really well. Mexico is not getting many of the fouls they are accustomed to and some of their players are losing their composure. Moreno got a yellow and (I think) will miss the next match.
What is going on with Mexico? It's hard to imagine that they'd be out after their first two games. Either they or Germany will be out. Crazy.
