Finally getting around to looking at Hawaii pics. Got some fun ones in here. But I need help deciding which Napali coast one is best. With no rainbow, some rainbow, or much rainbow. Think I know which one is best but I'm open to opinions.

I liked your captions. The beach for you said is supposed to be good for kids; is that because they can climb/hide and generally give their parents a heart attack there? : )

So those couple pictures were from the area that had the extreme flooding. So normally, that would be a nice, clean, sandy beach. And the lagoon protects it from waves, making it good for young kids. But it was just covered in trees and debris.

Google photo of better times:

Do we have a gardening thread yet?

My first pepper of the season is coming through. I was worried it was too hot out for them since I was dropping buds left and right but I saw this when I went to look at them this afternoon.

Hungarian Wax Pepper. Think of it as a slightly spicy banana pepper

we should have one if there isn't.

We decided to put in a garden this year and not just random tomato plants. Cause you know, I got nothing going on July-Sept. I've got some green peppers about ready to pick it looks like. Four kinds of tomato plants (promised DH I wouldn't plant 12 like last year and then ended up with 12), sweet corn, melon, watermelon, and some herbs. DH says I've got stuff packed in way too much but I call it "being efficient".

If anyone here likes Indian/Pakistani food, go to Lzaza in Des Moines near Drake. They have a lunch buffet Tuesday-Sunday and everything is amazing, plus unlimited naan.

Think India Palace in Ames only 10x better.

The cooks are recent immigrants from Pakistan while the business side is run by a successful relative of theirs that had money to invest.

Couldn't find one in the last few years from a search so I made one.

Just saw that one of my favorite professors at ISU Eric Northway passed away. I did horrible in his class but the man could teach.

I think he had some mental health issues that sort of derailed his career when he was there. Absolutely one of my favorite professors, but he disappeared for a long while my junior year I think.

I kind of got that feeling. One of the comments on that post mentions depression.

Ya I guess he went on a 4 year hiatus, I just texted one of my buddies who would know. Very sad, absolutely a gem of a teacher.

I really like that gecko picture too. We saw him walking to the car leaving a place - he almost blended in with the background.

My first place in Waikiki I had Geckos everywhere. But there were always regulars (though stray cats like to catch them for a snack). There were a couple I could even identify and named them.

They’re noisy as ****, though.
