These are the lyrics from the 3rd verse of Kanye West's new song "Lift Yourself".

Poopy-di scoop
Scoop-diddy-whoop
Whoop-di-scoop-di-poop
Poop-di-scoopty
Scoopty-whoop
Whoopity-scoop, whoop-poop
Poop-diddy, whoop-scoop
Poop, poop
Scoop-diddy-whoop
Whoop-diddy-scoop
Whoop-diddy-scoop, poop

This is the most important thing I learned this weekend in Chicago.

My buddy Jeff and I always referred to Snoop Dogg as Scoop Doggy Poop. Those lyrics above would be perfect for him.

A few years ago I went to the ISU OSU football game. I decided to take what I could find of route 66 between Tulsa to Springfield Missouri. I certainly hope the rest of route 66 is more exciting because outside of abandoned motels and storage sheds I didn't see much to get excited about.
Spring break last year we were coming across on I-40 and decided to get some breakfast in Tucumcari. There is an old stretch of Route 66 there and it was downright depressing. There were more abandoned hotels than ones that were open and the same for restaurants.

We were on a little bit of it in April when we drove home from New Mexico. The only cool thing we found was this filling station and an old tow truck:

The boys were VERY excited to log a cache at this landmark site in Shamrock TX on historical Route 66. Zoom in on the building and the vehicle out front. I think most of you will recognize it.

By way of explanation: "The boys" are our traveling companions and we use them to personalize pictures since neither of us really like having our pictures taken. They've been on several cruises and numerous vacations with us. We also geocache on road trips, and the items the boys are holding are from a geocache.

Here are my observations from the weekend trip to Chicago.

- Cripes Wisconsin. Six speed traps in the 4 hours it takes to get from Minnesota to Illinois is overkill.
- Northwestern is a really, really, really nice college. That may be the one school that it's actually worth it to go into significant debt for. Loyola was pretty cool, too. We also drove through UW-Madison. It looked very nice and we decided to come visit @cowgirl836 later this summer. Please delay having your baby so there's room for us to crash.
- Since we were in the neighborhood, we visited the Chicago Pride festival late Saturday night. The festival itself had shut down but the bars in the neighborhood were really hopping. I'm pretty sure there were going to be thousands of people up until dawn so I'm not sure how they were going to be able to attend the parade the next day.
- The bar we went into had Josie and the Pussycats cartoons playing on their TV's. Josie and the gang visited India and a tiger jumped onto their balcony and into their hotel room because I guess that's a regular occurrence in India.
- The Chicago History Museum is super cool. The history of Chicago is so interesting and scary. It really is fascinating. My favorite exhibit was probably about the protests in the 60's. So frustrating.
- Although the building is cool and it's within walking distance of my sister's, Goose Island is not a particularly good brewery.
- Ate at Gino's East for the first time. It's worth it.

My oldest like the river boat cruise. Told a lot of history.

Well, I can tell you that you and carver would certainly bring up the level of that state! (Of course, I can only assume you would never leave Iowa for Missouri.)

Not sure how to interpret this post. Nothing about bringing down Iowa’s if sent to Missouri. Can only assume he feels they are smarter than the tigers but slower than the average cyclone.

Correct on part A of the last sentence, not correct on part B. They are both smarter than average, wherever they may be. Heck, they went to ISU!!!!!

I see a couple of the things. I did a couple of chapter titles with commas the way and antebellum book did them. Grad college hates that, so a unique bit of style will be lost.

One page in the book has a section heading, and i underlined it. They hate underlined section headings.

Chapter titles aren't in ALL CAPS at the chapters.

This is important **** right here. I'm glad to waste my time fixing these major issues.

Nope nope nope. They don't even know how to spell down there.

Check. I'm an ISU fan by proxy...married a guy that went there. (And happy to be a fan, too)
