Here are my observations from the weekend trip to Chicago.
- Cripes Wisconsin. Six speed traps in the 4 hours it takes to get from Minnesota to Illinois is overkill.
- Northwestern is a really, really, really nice college. That may be the one school that it's actually worth it to go into significant debt for. Loyola was pretty cool, too. We also drove through UW-Madison. It looked very nice and we decided to come visit
@cowgirl836 later this summer. Please delay having your baby so there's room for us to crash.
- Since we were in the neighborhood, we visited the Chicago Pride festival late Saturday night. The festival itself had shut down but the bars in the neighborhood were really hopping. I'm pretty sure there were going to be thousands of people up until dawn so I'm not sure how they were going to be able to attend the parade the next day.
- The bar we went into had Josie and the Pussycats cartoons playing on their TV's. Josie and the gang visited India and a tiger jumped onto their balcony and into their hotel room because I guess that's a regular occurrence in India.
- The Chicago History Museum is super cool. The history of Chicago is so interesting and scary. It really is fascinating. My favorite exhibit was probably about the protests in the 60's. So frustrating.
- Although the building is cool and it's within walking distance of my sister's, Goose Island is not a particularly good brewery.
- Ate at Gino's East for the first time. It's worth it.
