Our class president had nothing to do with our reunions. Luckily, the student body president or others have stepped up for each reunion.
The "in crowd" girls (women) who still live in the area have arranged each of ours. Each one has been at an increasingly expensive place. For the 40 year, they had it at this hotspit hotel ballroom. $300 got us a "dinner" of finger foods and five classmates still playing together as a cover band. Cash bar. There was a discount on rooms for those who wanted to stay the night (which for my class was probably a good idea, as most of them should NOT have been driving post party). The rooms were "only" $250, instead of $275. Big whoop. We didn't stay there.

I told PapaLew if we have a 50th, it better be a cruise or in Hawaii or something; if we're going to pay ridiculous prices, I want to be able to do more than sit around and watch old people get drunk. :D

The 10th class reunion is interesting as people have changed. A lot of the jocks are fat and bald. A lot of the nerds are better looking as they either gained muscle or lost baby fat. There was a fight at our 10th class reunion. Not super surprising being where I graduated. The person that was in the fight is now a police chief.
A one person fight? That had to be fun.

I am confident that given a couple minutes I could name my whole junior class. (I changed schools my senior year so that is tougher) I went there from K though 11th. I’m positive I could remember all 14/15 of them.
We had over 420 in my senior class. There were kids walking across stage that I had seen before but never knew their names.

There is this guy I know, every time you see him he mentions how he is the family oddball because his is fairly big in height and weight but both of his parents are runts and so are their families. From what I’ve been told, he is the only one who doesn’t know his mom had an affair. Spitting image of other dude. I know another guy that is the opposite where everybody in the family is huge and he’s a midget. Same thing.

Are they the same age? Was this a wife swap situation? A key party?

There were a few kids behind me at HS that went to ISU also. A couple were dooshes and I would say hi when they did. Only one that irritated me was this hottie that said she always waved at me when our vehicles met at this corner but I never waved back. (If I had seen her, I probably would have abandoned my car and ran over to hers). Wealthy folks also. I missed out on a double win there.

One of the Van Diest girls of Van Diest Supply was at ISU the same time I was unluckily never knew or met her. #MissedOpportunities

I've been to one reunion - my 25th - at the express invitation of one of my best friends. It mainly consisted of the same goofballs who live in that town doing the same dumb **** they do all the time. Most never went to college, and their horizons are severely limited.

Not trying to go all "holier than thou", just saying I left high school behind a long time ago.

Family drama is fun fun fun.

Also pretty sure I like, gave myself carpal tunnel or something weeding yesterday. Got a bulgy spot (swelling) and decent amount of pain. Either my approaching old age or pregnancy is causing my body to break down. OR it's the lack of rum. Maybe rum was holding me together all this time.
