Didn't the same thing happen to Jok with his knee injuries?
Not sure how much the injury played into him consistently falling in the rankings from his sophomore to senior year. For whatever reason, his offensive development plateaued and he just turned in to a chucker who guarded the power forward on D.

Leech, McKinney and Liddell could give us a very tight knit group in consecutive classes. I don't know if he's connected to the St Louis guys but Mo only has so many high end recruits. Yes Liddell is from the other side of the river but he's still STL area.

So on Rivals he went from a 5-star to an unranked 3-star just because he got hurt? That seems a bit harsh from Rivals and all the recruiting sites.

Being a 5 star as a High School sophomore is more of a projection if the players skills reach their potential of size and speed. Depending on the severity of his injuries it can delay his expected development. Part of 5 star status is if the player has day 1 impact potential as a freshman which could be delayed with not playing for a long period. I suspect they are being conservative (3*) on his ranking until he can be re-evaluated.

You have quite the imagination with how you think things are.

Makes no sense but ok.

Simply informing folks that it appears his injuries were pretty significant from what other forums were saying...like I said.

But hey maybe it was just a scooby doo band aid and the KY, Louisville, Mizz, LSU and KU of the world just wasn’t having any of it.

Would it be a case of him needing to pass a physical or be evaluated by team doctors before accepting his commitment? Or is something like that not allowed by the NCAA?

They are probably waiting for him to actually visit campus before announcing his commitment.

Getting a little bit more information but nothing concrete.

Just a lot of moving parts here. I do think Iowa State will take the kid if everything falls into place. So basically, stay tuned. I don't anticipate anything being finalized in the next few days though. Patience, grasshoppers.

What do you mean by moving parts, Chris? Academic/Eligibility concerns? Trying to line up a visit before he commits? Mercy give us anything man!

LOVE this kids game. That first domino in a recruiting class is always huge as well and allows the staff to focus their attention elsewhere.

My guess is they will do a round of checking with doctors and trainers to make sure his health is 100 percent or can become 100 percent

Yea how so?

Word on other forums was it was compound fracture..like bone thru skin type. Not saying that is 100% but also saying had metal rod inserted..

If this was simple stress fracture and kid is like 18 months from walking into a campus then every other big school wouod not have backed off and they have. As of now anyway.

That’s a good point, but Paul George came back just fine. I think Hayward will come back just fine. The injury history is worrisome but IMO Iowa State needs to take a chance on the potential.
