I'm taking the northern route back and saw some dude with an awesome mullet at an Indiana truck stop. I wish I had my phone to try to sneak a pic.

The newsletter from our school district recently did a story on one of my daughter's friends that got a perfect ACT score. During the interview, she said that she liked to do normal teenage things stating, "I like to watch Netflix and right now I'm reading War and Peace:confused:".

Sounds like Alana (my middle daughter). She got a 35 on her ACT, and told me that she found organic chemistry "very interesting". Anyone who has ever taken organic chemistry knows that there are several descriptive words for it, none of which are "interesting".

The quote that almost had me extending bedtime last night to play, 'I'm an empress and I'm going to ride my dragon!" I was really curious to see where she was going with that, but the dragon included jumping on her bed. (Which was a reasonably priced BabiesRUs convertible.) Unfortunately, she is now jumping hard enough the bed is starting to have issues.

Thanks, @cyrevkah! I needed an LOL moment today, and you provided it. Good job!

Wow! 35?! And to think I was so proud of 31. I'd feel so slow trying to talk chemistry on the same level with Alana that my eyes would glaze over and someone would have to wipe the drool from my chin.

How old does one have to be before they get smart enough to not pull food from the microwave and put it into one's mouth without allowing ample time for it to cool?

Is it something you figure out after you turn 50? I'm just trying to figure out how many more years of idiocy I have to endure.

asking for a friend ok, nevermind, it's me

Regarding waiting after taking it out of the microwave: it would be coolerifyoudid.

Just had to say it...

Burning your mouth on food is the perfect excuse for ice cream.

So hubby called the landscape company yesterday before he left for the week to have them deliver mulch. They were having issues finding our name in their system even though they did our entire backyard and have done mulch delivery before. Hopefully the gal got everything correct, hubby looked on an old invoice and our last name was spelled wrong.

this is a very good reminder that we need to get soil and mulch ordered and meant to set that up before vacation as I imagine everyone else probably wants theirs next week as well. Ooops.

Does anybody pay attention to that last line of every microwave recipe that says, "Allow to cool for one minute in the microwave"? I'd rather get splattered in the face with exploding hot food than have to wait an extra minute to eat it.
