Tech has a great coach in him. I remember when we played his Little Rock team and they seemed well coached. Tech fans need to be careful though, beard hasn't stayed at a school longer than 3 years since 2011. If he gets an offer from a basketball school with more tradition he's probably going to take it.Buh, bye Boilermakers. I think Beard has Purdue's number - knocked 'em out 2 years ago & again tonight.
Well if we can start winning again then I don't give a damn how they act. As long as Iowa sucks too.Tech fans were annoying this past year as well. Not sure I feel good about them winning.
I'm lovin' seeing a Big 10 team going down. Not a fan of Painter or Purdue.
Yea, hopefully next year we see major improvement. Don’t really care about Iowa. They are an irrelevant program.Well if we can start winning again then I don't give a damn how they act. As long as Iowa sucks too.
Better than Purdon't winning and having to listen to the insufferable tavernhoks going on and on about how the Big10 was just as great a conference as the Big XII because they had just as many reps in the E8. This is why I also want to see Mich go down tomorrow!Tech fans were annoying this past year as well. Not sure I feel good about them winning.
Me as well. They are a lot like Iowa State being an Ag and Engineering school and their athletics tends to choke whenever they are on the verge of anything great.Purdue is probably the big 10 team I like the most, or at least dislike the least. Edwards is tough. Too bad they didn't have Haas.
Bu still happy for Tech.
We can finally stop watching Haarms play with his hair.
“Purdon’t advance”My suggested headline for that game: Raiders are Red; Boilers are out
The following is a cart-before-horse observation ... I’m trying to stay ahead of the curve and raise a few eyebrows (while attempting to wedge as many idioms into one sentence as possible).
@HoopsTournament can verify/dispute/augment, as necessary.
Big 8/Big 12 could advance four teams to the Elite 8. That would be unprecedented for the conference(s), if I’m not mistaken.
If three teams reach E8, it’d be only the 3rd such occurrence, IIRC.(**)
1988: #1Oklahoma, #4Kansas State, #6Kansas …. (KU def. KSU in Elite 8, then def. OU in title game).
2003: #1Texas, #1Oklahoma, #2Kansas … (From that point, in succession, OU, UT and KU each lost to Syracuse. SU also beat OSU in second round — four wins vs. one league on path to title; still seems bizarre).
(** I’m not counting 2010; three current members made it that season, but WVU was still in Big East).
