Could be hail I suppose but my guess would more than likely be sleet.

Aw I never had a chance to visit Waterloo and now it's too late, it's gone forever.

I thought the same thing last Friday night, going to bed during a thunderstorm, and waking up to 10" of snow at 7 AM Saturday morning. These late season snow storms can drop a lot of snow in a very short amount of time.

Yeah I have a growing feeling this one is going to go bonkers.

Accumulation forecasts are kind of interesting. At least KCRG is going with 4-8" for that band while both Quad City and DSM NWS are going with 10-12".

Nope, hail, thunder, and lightning. It was brief, but it was loud. Now its just all rain.

In the transition zone here in CR. Going between snow and sleet. Temp has dropped several degrees in 15 minutes.

I would say pretty much all snow now in NE CR with thunder and lightning. Temp down to 33 so I would imagine it will be all snow from here on out.

Told my wife that if she was in CR tonight, she could get 10". She immediately grabbed the car keys and headed that way.

NWS is still sticking with their forecast but with only 2" or so on the ground thus far I would be shocked to see us get near 10.
