***Official 2018 NCAA Tourney Thread***

No problem cheering for this Tech team. Chris Beard a coach I can get behind, and he's always had a ton of respect for us. Keenan Evans is basically like watching this year's version of Monte, how can I hate on that? They're a fun team to watch. Picked them for the Elite Eight and I'm still confident with that right now.

We're a 13-seed and a 16-seed away from 4 Big 12 teams in the Sweet 16. That's even better than I could have expected, although Marshall and UMBC are the two biggest Cinderellas left. Not sure both K-State and WVU will pull off wins. Need to have those two come through tomorrow so we can finally get this "overrated" stuff off of our backs. Can only help us for next year, when we're back in the tourney.

Evans mugged in the corner, nice no call.
Koulachev travels, no call.

If they would've hit one of those shots, it would've been robbery.
No kidding. I can understand letting them play with Evans, but man how does a ref that’s standing right there not call a travel. He shuffled so hard. Luckily it didn’t matter.

Refs are really swalling the whistle near the end of games. Evans was hacked on both sides but luckily fl was not shooting like Seaton hall.

I don't really understand curts hate for Tech, but I do find it amusing
Their football team is typically one of the dirtiest in the conference. In general both the athletes and fans are sand rednecks and 3rd tier rejects, but I’m rooting for the conference.

Tech
KSU
TCU
are the Big 12's basketball garbage teams and I prefer to keep them that way, so I want them to lose.

Don't have to worry much about K-State in the long-term. Weber isn't as terrible as some people think, but seasons like this are their peak as long as he's coaching there.
TCU seems to have a pretty bright future but they also lose some critical pieces. Haven't proven themselves a ton yet. Made the tourney this year without Fisher which was a big accomplishment, but couldn't win a game and they didn't make it far in KC either.
Baylor will be in that bottom tier next year. Didn't make the tourney this year and lose Lecomte, Acuil, Maston, Omot.
No guarantee that OSU will take a step forward from where they were. They were better this year than I expected, but still finished 8th. Lose their best player and another decent starter in Solomon.
OU without Trey Young? Look where they were last year. Hield was a great player but they got exposed in the Final Four. We were more competitive this year than they were last year - could have legitimately won 6-7 league games instead of the 4 we ended up with.

In other words, I'm not super worried about a TT ascending in the league. Someone else will take a dive, and I'm confident that we will be back up next year, at least in the middle of the pack.

Then you better be praying that Beard and Dixon take jobs somewhere else.
i don't see dixon leaving unfortunately. I'm hoping Beard takes over for Texas and Tech hires a bad coach.

I do agree with curt that it's beneficial for Tech and TCU to go back to being bad teams like they were during the Hoiberg days. There's enough competition before both teams became good that it won't hurt our conference that much.

Don't think Beard will leave Tech by choice. Basically "home" for him. If he has success he will be there for a long time.

Agree that we need someone to fall, ideally it will be OSU now that Underwood has moved on, or Baylor, their run may be at an end as well. I think Shaka figures it out enough at Texas where they won't fire him in the next few years. They will win a tourney game next year, just enough to save his job.

We're in a league where every school, legitimately, is trying to win in basketball. Not sure there is a single bad program or bad coach. We may be the only league in the country where that's the case. Some teams will have to lose, some coaches will get fired, but right now all 10 schools have a chance to be in the top half entering every season. We just have to hope we have enough to be a part of that group.
