Great list, thanks. What are your thoughts on Legion?

Beings how Legion isn't in the MCU, but rather is in the X-Men world, my full-out Legion review is in the Fox X-Men Universe thread. However, to save you a little time, I'll paste my old review right here:

Late to the party here I know, but I did finally finish Legion, so here is my full-out review for anyone interested. Overall, I really loved this series, as it was creative, innovative, and really different than anything we've seen so far from any Superhero TV series or movie. The creators really took a chance on this thing, and it payed off. This was my first FX series, but I get the gist that this type of innovative TV might be their niche, which is cool. The cinematography of the show was also spectacular overall. While the budget obviously wasn't anything too large, they did a good job of maximizing what they had to the point that the series seemed almost more movie quality than TV quality, which was great. They really went all-out on a couple episodes for sure budget-wise. Also, while I was a little worried after the first episode of this series being a little too out there for my liking, once things got rolling, you quickly realize this show is still an X-Men series at its heart that still contains all the good things that everyone wants and loves about the X-Men. Its just that they added a lot of creative fun on top of that core, which always left you guessing and wondering where everything was headed. Lastly, there is no doubt that the casting of the series was great as the acting all seemed top-notch. Again, it felt more like movie-quality acting that TV-quality, which is always good.

With that all said, the series did still have its flaws that unfortunately did take things down a notch. For one, the first really long episode, was a VERY slow burn. I get that they were trying to be creative in setting everything up, but sometimes that creative got a little too out of control and a little too slow at getting to the point. Frankly, I just found myself bored working may way through the entire episode. Then, just when you think you were past it by watching some pretty awesome episodes in 2-5, you get to episodes 6-7 that are almost an exact repeat of episode 1 with all the same downfalls. Almost feels like deja-vu, and at the same time, it almost feels like the series is in a low-budget stalling mode until the last episode, which is very good again.

Therefore, in the end, while I really loved the series and the creative team behind it, it is hard to call this thing "best series EVA" when I really didn't like 3 out of the 8 episodes overall, which is nearly half the episodes. Regardless, this was still a very solid series which I thought was good enough that I really hope they eventually tie it in somehow with the movies universe, which seems to still kind of be up in the air. Last I heard was that the series may or may not. They said the series pretty much has to earn that right, which I think it has. Stay tuned as I'll soon include Legion on my Comic Book TV rankings and post that update on here.

Time to start speculating about Phase 4, Disney revealed SEVEN dates for future Marvel Studios films:

UNTITLED MARVEL previously dated 8/7/20 moves to 7/31/20

UNTITLED MARVEL 5/7/21

UNTITLED MARVEL 7/30/21

UNTITLED MARVEL 11/5/21

UNTITLED MARVEL 2/18/22

UNTITLED MARVEL 5/6/22

UNTITLED MARVEL 7/29/22

http://deadline.com/2018/03/disney-...-moved-off-schedule-release-dates-1202307448/

The first film is most likely GotG V3, as that has been confirmed by James Gunn that it will be released in 2020.

I’m guessing Doctor Strange & Black Panther sequels are on this list too.

That leaves 4 more up-in-the-air films:
Ant-Man 3?
Avengers 5?
Black Widow?
FthOR / Thour / Th4 (Thor 4)

I thought the Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel would be on this list but that is a July 5, 2019 release. I’m guessing we’ll see either a movie added or some movies shifted, as it looks like only 1 MCU movie is in the works for 2020.

I finally saw GOTG vol. 2 yesterday since it's on Netflix now. Honestly I liked it just as much as 1 but it has the "Giant Amorphous Blob Villian" problem at the end. Still had good jokes and everything. I wasn't somebody that was ga ga over the first one though.

Luke Cage Season 2 trailer. Release date is June 22:

And here's a photo Netflix released showing a first glimpse at Misty Knights repaired arm:

Bought my copy of Thor: Ragnarok in 4K UHD blu ray format. Can't wait to watch it. Warning to all who buy: Redeem your digital copy through VUDU if you want it to actually be a 4K digital copy. I redeemed my digital copy at Movies Anywhere last time for GOTG2 and only ended up with an HDX (1080P) copy. I called them up and complained to no end and they still would not change it. So, this time I tried redeeming through VUDU, and boom, I got a 4K copy. So stupid that they do this, but warning to anyone else out there like me.

I've never redeemed one ever, guess I don't really understand what they're for.

You download it to a device?

You redeem it through a digital copy streaming service. The confusing part is that there is quite a few different services out there that you can redeem your copy through (Vudu, Movies Anywhere, Itunes, Googleplay), HOWEVER, the good thing is that you can link all those accounts easily where when you redeem a movie one place (through the settings), it appears on all the different services. So, what you do is you choose one service, download their app, redeem your digital copy there, then watch that movie on any mobile device or TV out there where you can download the app. Not only will your movie appear where you can watch it whenever you want by streaming it, but you can also download your movie whenever you want, then remove that download too whenever you want as many times as you want.

I'm a big user of digital copies, have all my movies now with digital copies, and mostly use it in two ways:

-When traveling on road trips, I usually download a couple movies for my kids to watch onto our IPAD for the drive. Since you can download and remove download super easy, I always switch up which movies I have downloaded.

-Not only does my new TV have a VUDU app on it, but my AppleTV on each TV also have both VUDU and Movies Anywhere App, therefore, I rarely use my discs anymore even though I like having them. Instead, whenever I want to watch one of my movies, I just watch them through my digital copy with some even in 4K UHD. Way easier than grabbing a disc.

Last bit of advice. I've used all the different digital copy services, and I find VUDU to be the best, especially since it is one of the only ones where you can stream your 4K digital copies in 4K.

Oh yeah, one other little tidbit is that VUDU (who is partnered with Wal Mart) allows you do convert all your old hard copy discs to digital for only like $2 or $3 each, which is what I did with all of them (Disney discs are excluded). You can either do this by bringing your discs into the store or you can do it online too through Vudu's website.

I'm pretty sure, but not 100% positive, that if you have an Apple TV 4K all of your (compatible) movies playback at 4K resolution. iTunes tracks all their purchases the same, so your Movies Anywhere collection should all convert to 4K (at least the compatible titles). I only have an Apple TV version 3 but when I check the 4K movies in iTunes and it's a title that I own it says that I own the 4K edition as well. The Apple TV 4K retails for around $200 but if you have a lot of movies that are 4K compatible this may justify it.

Edit:
Here is Apple's 4K digital copy policy

UPDATE 10/17/17 DIRECTLY FROM APPLE:

Apple is ONLY upgrading iTunes Store purchases and HD code redemptions to 4K. Everything else will stay at the original purchase or redemption resolution, be it 4K or HD.

To clarify...

  • If you PURCHASED a movie or REDEEMED a Digital Copy IN iTunes AND it's available in iTunes in 4K, you get a free 4K upgrade and will be able to play that back in 4K on the Apple TV 4K.

  • If you PURCHASED a digital movie in 4K somewhere else, like VUDU, AND it's available in iTunes in 4K, you'll be able to play this title back in 4K on the Apple TV 4K.

  • If you REDEEMED a Digital Copy code from a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray somewhere else AND it's available in iTunes in 4K AND that specific movie studio allows for 4K redemption on this specific title, you'll be able to play that back in 4K on the Apple TV 4K.
But...

  • If you PURCHASED an HD version of a movie on VUDU, or one of the other streaming services, it will only playback in HD even when there is a 4K copy available in iTunes.

  • If you REDEEMED a Digital Copy from an HD Blu-ray in Movies Anywhere or VUDU or Ultraviolet, it will playback in HD even when there is a 4K copy available in iTunes. Please also note that some studios sell 4K Blu-rays with "HD" Digital Copies included.

I'll second VUDU. It took me awhile to get up to date with the ol' digital copy technology, but I've been really happy with their service. A number of us share accounts and there are way more titles in there than I will ever watch.

Anyone watch Jessica Jones season 2 yet? Watched most of it. Pretty good stuff.
I’m 4 episodes in. It’s alright - nowhere near as good as Season 1 of Jessica Jones or The Punisher. I really wish I would have re-watched Season 1 before jumping in to this season.

Rather than re-watch seasons, what I always do is freshen myself up by reading the Marvel Cinematic Universe wikia page's summary of each of the previous seasons' episodes. It helps me out a ton to give me a refresher and it is quicker than re-watching an entire season.

I finally went to Black Panther. It was alright. Pretty standard superhero fare, though the CGI reminded me way too much of The Hobbit trilogy.

Maybe that was just Martin Freeman and Andy Serkins being around.

The best part about it by far was Michael B. Jordan's performance and his character. They should have told the whole film from his perspective. I am glad Marvel finally put together a bad guy with a coherent and sympathetic back story. He is sadly a one-off.

I could have cared less about the flat main characters, but, heck, I wanted him to win at the end, I am sad he is gone (a little snuffly, too), and wanted more of him.

Hail the Killmonger.
