Just FYI for anyone that is coming down to KC for the Big 12's the normal Wednesday night kickoff party at Kelly's will be on Thursday. Since ISU is playing on Wednesday night we had to do a little shuffling. If ISU wins it will take place before and after the game on Thursday. Brian Congden will be playing again. Make sure to come in before and after the game.

If you are interested in other events going on in KC visit the ISU alumni of KC facebook page.

I also think there is a little gathering for ISU fans happening at McFadden's at 5pm on Wednesday before the first session.

If we bow out early, won't be anything but Kansas fans there. They will lose big money.

Not so sure "they lose big money" so much as miss out on larger profits. Let's not pretend P & L shutters their doors the rest of the year when ISU fans aren't around.

There will be enough KU and KSU fans to fill the place. The worst thing that could happen is ISU, KSU and KU all being done by Thursday or at least not one of those 3 going all the way to Saturday.

Where do I reasonably park?....that is safe too.
Where do I scalp tickets, or is there a Stubhub Temp office near by?
Other do's and Don'ts?

Go State

There is underground parking pretty close to the sprint center that works ok.

Lots of scalpers. From what people have mentioned 10-20 bucks will get you 1st round tickets.

Anywhere on the street outside the west doors of the Sprint Center will have plenty of cheap tickets for the game. We always stay at the Marriott so parking isn’t an issue for us, but I’ve known a few people who park south across the interstate and use the new trolly system, or just leave your car at the hotel you’re staying at and Uber to P&L

It is a great time down there and your 8yr old will love it.
I can't help you on the parking as we stay down there.
As far as tickets go, go on StubHub I have heard you can get lower bowl tickets for like $10. If you are there on Thursday, I know that 2 years ago when ISU bowed out early there was a temporary StubHub office setup in the Marriott hotel. We dropped our tickets there and let them deal with them.
Other Do's - If you like to golf, go to Top Golf. It is a blast and fairly cost effective. Also, Charter always talks about Fritz's. http://www.fritzskc.com/

Of course KU/KSU would fill the place but it would be at an average of $50/seat instead of the $200/seat on semifinal night when ISU is involved. Each time I've been down there I get the vibe that the KU snobs save up their XMas bonuses to travel to the Sweet Sixteen rather than shell out big bucks to get into the Sprint Center. Of course that often comes back to bite them...
