Yes I am.
Maybe you should do a little research on the kid. He started working with a QB coach after his junior year of high school and only attended some smaller schools camps in the summer, so only the smaller schools seen him play and they all offered. Schools find kids when they start attending summer camps. If he doesn’t attend anything but small camps, then he’s not going to be seen by a whole lot of eyes. He had a really good senior season and won Gatorade player of the year for the state of Arizona which caught the eye of bigger schools. The bigger schools then watched his film and saw what he could do and offered him a scholarship. He was not on anyone’s radar before his senior year, which is why he is get getting all these offers late. Matt Campbell has put his whole off season into recruiting this kid which tells you how good he is. They already have a QB in the class which means they weren’t really in the market for another. They saw the kid and thought they had to get this kid on the team. That should be enough to tell you how good the kid is.

Bama and A&M haven't landed a QB for this class. Most likely they view Purdy as the best available right now, but the majority of the class has already been signed.

So if Purdy had signed somewhere in the early signing period, A&M and Bama would have offered a 2 star QB, right?

No. They actually think Purdy can play or they would use their scholarship elsewhere. You seem to be highly underestimating the value of a scholarship, especially one to A&M or Bama. They are not required to sign a QB every year.

Don't even entertain the troll. When Campbell said he would wait it out to signing day to get Purdy, that told me all I needed to know.

The kid is good prospect but he definitely got some looks from other schools because of supply and demand. It is very much akin to spring basketball recruiting.
But I don't see why anyof it matters. ISU coaches think they found a good one and really that is all that matters. What I think is more interesting is what it means for the other QBs? You typically don't want 2 in the same class. Does this say something about Mitchell or about Moore?

To be honest the way Campbell and staff have approached this over the past month tells me more than the Alabama and A&M offer.

They think they found one they can't pass up and want badly, even though its not a need for the class.

The consensus is Mitchell will probably play as a true freshmen since he's already on campus putting him in the same class as Moore.

I think it's safe to say Campbell does not hesitate to play multiple quarterbacks, unlike Kirk "Bud Kilmer" Ferentz, who prefers to ride one horse until it dies.

QB = most important position
Some QBs get hurt. Some take longer to develop. Some work better in different situations. Some quit mid-season.
This is why we want a lot of good ones.

I'll BRB, I'm gonna go copy and paste this in every single thread that Kempt, Purdy, Re-Al, Moore and Noland are mentioned. As fans of a team that played 4 different QBs in one successful season, we sure ask the same dumb questions over and over and over.

Again, trying to get the tread back on track:

I know it was posted before, but is there some site we can go to to see the announcement live?

Playing multiple guys because of injuries is one thing or if you have a Lanning type that gets a few plays, playing multiple guys just to play multiple doesn't happen.
