Its almost like people decide, when spending a good deal of money to go to a bowl game, whether all the factors (destination, opponent, etc) make it worth spending that money or something.

Yup. It is a moving target. But knowing this committee, they would find a way to keep OU out of the playoffs if the Big 12 didn't have a championship.

At first, reading everyone complain about the bowl I almost thought I had somehow gone to volnation and was reading about their coaching search. You all saying we should turn the bowl down are acting just like those d-bags there.

I don’t disagree with what you are saying, but 6-6 Texas would have been selected over 8-5 Iowa State for Texas Bowl and Camping World had the opponent been Notre Dame.

This Liberty Bowl talk is giving me awful flashbacks to the 2002 Humanitarian Bowl.
A 7-6 Iowa State team gets sent to Boise, Idaho, where it was cold and snowing, to play Boise State on its home field.

Some of you need to chill, I will gladly go to a driving distance bowl game in which I can enjoy NYE out of Iowa to support a Coach and team who fought their asses off this year to exceed most everyone's expectations.

Sure there are better things on the horizon, but I live for now. See you on Beale

Arent you the one that still whines about hoiberg in every other basketball thread? And you're bagging on people weighing how to use their own money as 'throwing a fit'?

It's all about perspective. Before the year started or after the Iowa game, I think all of us would be stoked for the bowl game anywhere. After wins against Ok, TCU and getting what we feel is screwed out of two other potential wins and the matchups that those would have had, it can be seen as disappointing but only because we allowed ourselves to fall into the what ifs.
