Bowl Game Projections

You really believe we couldn't beat ND? Beating OU on their home field, and beating TCU as well, doesn't make you think we have a chance against the almighty ND? Not me. I think we can beat them.

TCU and OU also play into our strengths on defense. We are not built to stop a power run team consistently.

If we get Memphis at least we should be designated the home team. Home team locker rooms, uniforms, automatic we win the coin toss and we get to pick the refs.

Also, I never said I didnt think we could win, but its less likely than other scenarios I have seen

I welcome a challenge give me a Notre Dame/P5 over a game we would be favored in against like Miami Oh/G5 team...with Iowa on the schedule we will never play any other P5 schools so bowl games are our only chance

Yep, and everyone knows that 15 year old bowl game results are the best indicator for future games. Surprised that they are even going to play the game since it's such a forgone conclusion.

The point is that ISU doesn't get to bowl games often enough for this fan base to be acting so entitled. I will be happy to get any bowl we can get and do my best to get to them. Memphis happens to make that the easiest for me, so the prospect of the liberty bowl is a great one. So is Orlando though. And so is Houston. I'm going to be happy wherever we end up.

I’m thrilled with the season in general, beating two top 5 teams, and getting to a bowl game this season. We may be acting a little entitled, but bowl games aren’t supposed to be about local teams getting another home game either, or by conferences sitting out of their tie-in. Yeah, sometimes that’s how it shakes out and it’s all about the money in the end, but is that even there with Liberty selecting Memphis? Those bowls are always the least interesting as well.

With that in mind, we also don’t get to bowl games often enough to have a crappy matchup that no one cares about. There are bowls to prop up G5 teams and give them exposure (like the Liberty is now shaking out to be), and there are bowls to highlight out-of-conference P5 matchups. The exposure of playing another P5 team is what I think this program needs going forward, and I think we earned it beating Oklahoma and TCU, while clearly getting robbed out of OSU and KState.

Didn't Jamie say on Murph and Andy that we will know where we are going at 2:15 pm today?

We'll know prior via the Tweet monster, but 2:15 pm is what Jamie said unless i heard him wrong.

2:45pm central we will be holding a press conference to talk about our bowl game with CMC and JP.

I assume we'll find out on Twitter beforehand
