Survived Black Friday weekend...mostly. Pulled two 8 hour shifts in 24 hours, and ended up with a nickel-sized blister right below my second toe on my right foot. (It's okay, Pants, no pics) No fights, no horrendous stories, but still two stories.

1) Was tasked on Wednesday night to go to the local Subway to pick up four 4(?) foot long sandwiches for lunch for those working Thanksgiving Day. I was carrying two sandwiches, one Subway worker was carrying the two other sandwiches, and the other Subway worker was carrying two containers with the toppings/vegetables. We just get outside to my car, and the one employee drops all of the toppings. Parking lot salad. The one employee remade the toppings, while the other that dropped them grabbed their snow shovel and scooped it out of the lot. Wasn't mad, and they only took around 10 minutes to fix it.
2) Saw that a new seasonal employee had called in to not work on Black Friday because "she had too many family obligations". I then heard in the break room that the new employee actually showed up in the store with her mother to shop. Oops. Not sure of the new employee's fate.

Husband's suggestion would be not to stay at the La Quinta at 108th & Maple in Omaha. Gets back from Manhattan on Saturday night, wakes up at around 2:30a to a burning smell. Wasn't the heating contraption by the window, wanders near the door. Weed. He stopped the gap between the door and the floor with a towel. Couldn't get back to sleep until around 5:30a.

How did your husband stay up until 5:30 after smoking all that weed?

I'm working on hiring someone right now and I said they had a really bad cover letter. But it really is. Reads like a high school application. They also failed to run spellcheck on their resume so the cover letter isn't the only strike.

The poor cover letter can kind of slide if their job won't include much writing. The spelling errors on their resume just shows laziness/carelessness, that would be the bigger red flag to me.

It's a shame the wind is gusting to 30 mph out there....would have loved to have squeezed in a bike ride but dat wind is a bit chilly.

Tried out a new mountain bike today after work, Trek Excalibur 7. Damn it was sweet ride really takes the bumps out when going up and down off of curbs (no trail to ride so just did a little parking lot curb bouncing). I might have to add that to my bike quiver. @VeloClone or anyone else any input on mountain bikes would be appreciated.

Not exactly sure.
My son has a kid in his class with the last name Subject, is called Subs. My daughter has his brother in her class. Was looking at the names on the board in the wrestling room for who is what string. Name cards have last names on them. They will add something to differentiate between those with the same last name, usually a nickname. The youngest had 6in before his and the last hadn't 12 in infront. So it's 6 inch Subs and 12 inch Subs. assuming it's for big and little.

Went and ruined it all by climbing up into the attic and laying some insulation back that had been moved earlier for bathroom remodel wiring and exhaust fan vent. Had to reattach the insulated vent which had sagged. One thing about having a garage full of remodeling ****, I had an exhaust pipe bracket in a box of misc hanger crap.

Than ran three miles, if slugging along at 10 minute miles can be called running.

No matter how slow you run, you're still lapping everyone on the couch. ;)

BC, how was the KSU trip minus the poorly officiated game results?

It was OK. Anytime with the kids is a good time. We stayed in KC on Friday and drove back that night. Free XM radio for the weekend was nice. We were in a small parking area that must have been the ISU spot because it was mostly cyclones, so that was nice. The fans around us were douchey, one drunk student with his dad would complain about anything we cheered, stood, or call we questioned. If we clapped for a penalty that gave us a first down we had remarks yelled at us. By halftime a new set of people came in, and they were just like the drunk student and dad. They would complain if we stood and we only stood when the people infront of us did. Basically we won't go back for awhile.

I think a fat tire bike will be my next bike purchase. They just look fun/interesting. The local Trek shop rents them for $30 a day so I think a couple buddies and I are going to do that some day next year.

That new employee sounds brilliant! Is she the one that turned in the cover letter to CG?

I called my brother last night to wish him a happy belated birthday. His birthday was last Friday.

This is actually an improvement for me. I suck at birthdays
