Country Music

My music tastes are very eclectic. One minute it's Sugarland, the next it's Boston, then it's the London Philharmonic, and it goes on. I'll listen to anything except for rap.

Most times, I listen to country, though. I prefer it because it's more wholesome than other genres. I know there are plenty of songs in country music about getting drunk, sleeping with women, etc. but for the most part there is less of than in country than in other mainstream genres.

Country is pretty much the ONLY music I listen to anymore... I love Brooks and Dunn, Shooter Jennings, and pretty much everything... I hated it untill college and my roomate had the Everywhere CD by Tim McGraw and it got me hooked...

I'm curious as to reasons that people don't like it though, havent seen any yet...

If anyone thinks country music in Iowa is bad, you should listen to some "authentic" deep East Texas country. It shreds my eardrums. Unbearable.

like most country ... except Reba, for some reason her voice makes my skin crawl.

Sawyer Brown, Brad Paisley, Garth, Blackhawk, & Diamond Rio are in my cd rotation right now (yes, at 29 I'm already old balls I don't even own an mp3 player)

Country music fan here. Big & Rich are my favorites because they are so progressive and cross over into such a broad variety of genre fan bases.

Others I like in no particular order:
Brad Paisley
James Otto
George Strait
Carrie Underwood
Montgomery Gentry
The Oak Ridge Boys
Brooks & Dunn
John Anderson
Dierks Bentley
Kenny Chesney
Alabama
Little Big Town
Hank Williams Jr.

Besides Big & Rich I really just like good music so while I may not be too fond of an artist like Keith Urban he has a couple songs I do like.

The crap that is spewed out of Nashville is essentially un-listen-able.

I am quite an Alt-Country fan however.

Ryan Adams
Whiskeytown
Wilco
Son Volt
Gram Parsons
National Grain

etc.
