Thought that this would be a helpful thread to hold all of the de commitment conversation, rather than on the 2018 recruiting thread.

As of right now I know of
EJ Montgomery - 4* - PF - De-committed from Auburn
Courtney Ramey - 5* - PG - De-Committed from Louisville
Anfernee Simons - 5* - SG - De-Committed from Louisville

please add tweets, articles, links, etc. for whoever you hear has (or is rumored to be) de-committed

May as well add any players suspended due to eligibility concerns. Bowen at Louisville (unconfirmed, but who else could it be?).

Do they get to keep the money?

Yeah, and you have to think Arizona information will start trickling out as well. Will be interesting to follow

It is Jahvon Quinerly

"According to the USAO complaint, in a recorded phone call "on or about August 11, 2017," Dawkins said, "I know the guy with the 15 grand we gave him [Player-5], he committed like three days ago... so that deal got done."

Arizona pledge and 247Sports five-star point guard Jahvon Quinerly announced his decision on August 8."

I know you guys are joking, but if the NCAA does its job, these kids are all screwed right?
No other program will take them because if they play, and then are deemed ineligible, all those wins get vacated.

This is going to be crazy if a bunch of the best high school players can't get a school to take them.

Roy Williams is pissed he lost his value-add of fabricating classes and grades to go along with cash and prizes.

Well, no. You can't assume all of them are paid unless there is proof. Right now there is nothing saying these kids did anything. I think schools will be cautious with them but if they look and don't find anything then they will recruit them. Now Nassir Little is different bc in the complaint it specifically says they were going to get a substantial sum and asking for more to go to another school.

They can all get together for a barnstorming tour playing in exhibition games. The Filthy Five, coming to your town soon!

Or they can go overseas and play for a year. There are options for them.

They didn't have to take the money. That wasn't forced on them.
They've got plenty of options, and probably weren't too serious on college. They've just lost that year of marketing, but NBA scouts already know who they are.

I'd feel bad, but they've really lost nothing, unless you're clinging to the old fantasy that they were potentially serious students.

Be careful here. Some of these kids are clearly caught up in the NCAA and legal issues and may never play college ball. However, there are likely some innocent kids that committed to these schools that now that this has come out will decommit because they don't want to be a part of that kind of a program, or weren't involved and want to get away from the blight.

Let's not assume every kid that committed is dirty. If they are it will be unveiled, but I would be shocked if there aren't some innocent kids who are great people and would be great additions to another university currently committed to or attending these schools.
