I saw someone hint too that it might be tied to shoe companies trying to steer players a certain way and that an exec from Adidas might be in trouble.
I've posted this story on here before that I heard from an insider but it's been a while. 17-18 years ago, ISU was in on a big-time recruit. An Adidas rep told LE he could deliver this recruit if ISU signed a shoe deal with Adidas. LE told him to go **** himself. That recruit ended up at Auburn and later had a 10 year NBA career. He also got his ass kicked by the Cyclones in the 2000 NCAA tourney.I think sometimes fans don't know or don't understand how involved the shoe companies are with players from a very early age.
