Homecoming week here. Parade that is usually Thursday got moved for the ISU game to tonight now postponed to Friday due to threat of rain. Any bets we are dry from 5-6pm tonight?

Homecoming theme this year is Greek (as in Ancient Greece). One of the HS dress up days is Greek Life. Daughter didn't like the idea of wearing my old Greek letters and carrying a mug. :D Pretty sure that isn't what they had in mind . . . .

If we can be stuck with blights and bugs and other things that kill off useful or ornamental plants that we like, why oh why has there never been any kind of pathogen that targets poison ivy????

Dammit I itch...

eh 8/10 on bets this weekend. I've learned that it really isn't hard, especially when you're living betting on a game that you're watching

This is one of those times where you should really trust the advice that comes from experience.

A good friend of mine has been taking bets for the past 15 years and is very open to me about everything. I've heard him have weekends where he's had to pay out $12,000 before and wondered how in the hell he does it. He simply says, "I've always been ahead at the end of the year. Always."

I'm not a gambler at all, so I'll never recommend it. However, knowing that people have to make their own choices and mistakes I won't presume to be able to sway you. I'll offer a little advice though. Treat gambling as a source of entertainment and not as a source of income. Be prepared to entertain yourself with X amount of dollars. Once you hear yourself saying, "If I can just pull back even" you need to stop. Never gamble with what you can't afford to lose.

Guys, I think I located the dumpster that boxster loaded from his stomping grounds. Still full I'm told. Will be heading over there tonight to hook up and have it delivered in MSP by noon tomorrow. We can start unloading it after that. I'm sure he will be happy to have all these keepsakes saved.

I think we should just haul it over to his place and leave it on the front porch.

I agree with this 1000%, and I've said the same to many people. The problem with casinos is that too many don't.....instead of viewing it as going to a movie, or a concert, they're convinced the next pull is going to hit big and they'll be rolling it it.

And gambling, well......for the true degenerate gambler, is isn't about winning or losing. It's about the action.

I know a guy that will gamble on anything! He told me when he was single, he lost a house.

When you come home to find the Three Musketeers bar you were looking forward to is now just a wrapper on the side table...

Not to despoil this thread, but saw the thread about Coach saying he supports players speaking out on issues and thought, "Oh ****, this thread is going to be a doozie" and decided INSTANTLY to not open it. Already over 200 posts. I think I'm a wise old man, LOL!

I hate politics and religion discussions unless one on one or in private. Very uncomfortable for me.

That is all.

Definitely a big congrats to boxster surviving the estate sale. Means one of us won't have to clean that out.

You guys will all rue the day you missed the auction. ;) You could have had my 1961 vintage football helmet . Think it went for $22 along with an ad for an almost identical helmet I found in an old 1961 Boys Life magazine. Ha, my old baseball glove and my dad's went for $20 or so each also.
