Random Thoughts X (The 9th Regeneration)

@CycloneErik - A bunch of the neighbor ladies just completed an overnight (Ragnar) run similar to what you did. Evidently, it is better to be in the first vehicle than the second. After the first legs, the people in the first vehicle all relaxed and slept a bit. The second one had people too excited to sleep until it was their turn. Evidently, the lack of sleep caused some weird driving errors later on (driving down a one way street the wrong way...). However, that could have been caused by the fact that it was all women drivers.

Was this the wife swapping ladies you had on your trip?

played the top team in our league last night. We lost 2-1 and blew a lead in the 2nd which was poopy. First set I rotated out and we were up like 5-3 and I didn't get back in until they were at 13 . I was so antsy to get in and serve............served into the net. Bad words.

Had one more bad serve on the night but went on a couple nice runs of like 3 and 4 serves that included two aces. Served out the third set that we won, too. DH stepped on my foot at one point and skinned my toe..........then it got sand ground in it for the next 20 minutes. That stings!

We decided that team belonged in the upper league as this was only the second set they've lost and they very consistently did three hits. No one else (including us) does that. Looking at their set scores, we were their closest game. We want to try passing more and you know, being like real volleyball not just play hot potato with the ball. So we'll see. One more game before playoffs.

Anyone need some flooding? We've had more than our fair share this year and have some to spare. Some places south of KC had 9 inches of rain.

I'll pass. We get rain every other day it seems. Not enormous amounts but it does seem to come in quick burst. Think my mulch pathway has washed away like a least half dozen times this summer. Been cool and wet which is makes some plants/tree happy and other not so much. Lots of fungus diseases running rampant here this summer (they are digging the cool/damp/humid). Not just me and my neighbors opinion, confirmed with Davey Tree plant dude. I think I might lose my one white pine and my neighbors birch is a goner and their redbud is also sick looking.

Gypsy Antique shop owners. Not too shabby. Kind of sounds like Rosendale but surprisingly I didn't see a single cop there this year going to and from Osh.
Yeah, I took that route when I was coming back to Madison after my internship and I didn't see any either. Which was a little annoying because I had spent the entire summer going the Fond du Lac route to avoid Rosendale.

Yes, more CG sports updates!

And happy belated birthday, Erik!

I'm trying to decide when I should go pick up my student tickets. We can start today, but I'm wondering if it'll be packed. I might just walk over and if there are a lot of people I can just come back later.

Since I like to complain about other people. Found out last night that my sister apparently nearly falls asleep while driving at least once a month. Sometime recently she did so and hit a curb pretty hard breaking a shock. Kind of disturbed and frustrated with how her and my parents were not more concerned with this.

You're green-lighted to yell at anyone you want in this scenario. I wouldn't remotely worry about offending anyone. That's nothing to tempt fate with.

I was just like WTF this isn't some small thing. I think we have all had to shake ourselves awake at least once while driving but it isn't a normal thing.

Oldest is 17 today. Took him over for his unrestricted license (this DOT new license stuff is a racquet). Kid struggles with the people there. They kept asking about physical and mental issues, apparently his old license had a medical alert issue, before his permit said he was deaf. The current worker seemed dumbfounded that it could be listed and be wrong. If the main lady wasn't so attractive I may have mentioned about a repeated problem here.

And in their multiple questions & answers it never occurred to them that he could hear them?

Is she just driving when she is totally exhausted or is this something that also happens when she is not driving like narcolepsy? One gal I used to work with had narcolepsy and would nod off at the oddest times (like in a non boring Boxster run meeting!). It's one thing to nod off in a meeting but something else while driving.

Old man Boxster doesn't come close to burning the candle at both ends like young Boxster who frequently flirted with disaster by driving exhausted. Driving super exhausted is worse than driving slightly drunk.

I don't know and in interest of being ridiculed I am learning to not push too much.
