Stadium Info

Listed as:
"Recreation Services- SE Recreation Fields Renovation and Improvements" ... with an eight-figure estimated cost.
That doesn't sound like parking. Thanks for the info.

The tailgating lots between Trice and Hilton are in AWFUL shape to the point of almost being a safety hazard. When are they going to resurface them?

I don't know how bad they really are. They seem to absorb beer and repel barbeque sauce as well as ever....

Took my in-laws to campus today and concluded our visit at the stadium. I knew that there was construction going on but man.... that place looked abandoned. It was embarrassing and it looked like ****. Why are there random deep holes around the stadium grounds and why is the entire west side taken over by multiple weeds were there was once grass The asphalt is chipped up and the entire grounds gave indication that we were about to demolish the place.

I know that to not be the case and it is only aesthetics but wow- did we let that place go already
Yeah it's looks bad. Hopefully it's cleaned up by sep 3rd

This is a huge agree from me. Lots of bad asphalt between Hilton & Trice.

Like others have said there are a couple projects going on around the stadium. So things are a bit torn up. Sure they will have thing in order for the first game. Agree about the lot north of the stadium. That reconstruction can't happen soon enough

From JP's email back in December for those who have not seen it:
  1. One of the best assets of our athletics program is the incredible tailgating environment around Jack Trice Stadium. We have tremendous parking - both inventory and proximity - at the stadium that is the envy of many of our peers. Yet, we also recognize the need to continue to try and improve game-day parking because we have far more fans coming to football games today than ever before and we also anticipate those numbers will increase as the team improves under Coach Campbell's leadership. As a result, we are working with campus officials to develop a comprehensive plan to capitalize on the space east of University Boulevard (across from the stadium) that will 1) increase and improve game-day parking; 2) provide more efficient and lighted space for campus recreation; and 3) further enhance the entrance to Iowa State University. This project has the potential to provide significant improvement to game-day parking and may include a pedestrian walk-way over University Boulevard (improving game day safety), relocation of RV parking to an area specifically dedicated to RVs (electrical hookups, lighting, permanent restrooms, etc.) and more prime surface parking for fans donating to the Cyclone Club. We hope to have updated information on this exciting potential project in the very near future.
