Just put a hitch on your vehicle and pull a trailer. Stick the kids back there and it will be your best choice. A little generator on top and a TV inside and you will save money and peace of mind.

During my trip to Adventureland, I discovered the answer to the question "Where do the people that go to the Missouri State Fair go when the fair isn't taking place?"
I'm fairly confident that one family that stood behind us in the line for the Tornado learned to speak by watching Deliverance and Dukes of Hazard reruns.

So my buddy who is a car guy and is into all those small tiny randomly sporty cars should be getting engaged this year and they eventually want kids. She told him his next car had to be family friendly. So he went and got a new 2 door civic. I keep telling him he is in for a wake up call but his response is "zip ties can get the car seat secured to the roof".
Some people take advice and avoid mistakes.

And then some people buy 2 door cars when they are planning on having a kid.
Things I learned at Adventureland:
- The Tornado is just as shaky as it was 30 years ago.
- The sky ride (or whatever it's called) is oddly entertaining as it goes through the Monster.
- Two dramamine tablets don't prevent motion sickness any better than one tablet.
- Dippin Dots are about the only thing my stomach likes hours after riding the Tornado.
- Dippin Dots are more expensive per gram than cocaine.
- Shirts with profanity are perfectly fine to wear in public in front of kids.
- Adventureland can hold 3 million people at one time
- I protect my daughter with the intense ferocity of a mother bear unless bumper cars are involved.
- Actually using the toilets in the bathroom stalls is optional.
- Watching the look of pure joy on my daughter's face was worth all of it.

So got a call from doctor office referring me to a specialist. I always joke that any sinus and ear stuff is related to that face shattering fastball I took in the face over 50 years ago. Well, looks like my problems ARE directly related to that injury. ****.
After we get home with Z's first school supply run her dad says, Wow, there are a lot of lights on this back pack!" I turn around to look and think it's kinda cool.

Came into town for work and saw the mail lady sitting on the side of the road with a flat tire. Mail is going to be really late now. She was just sitting on the curb on the phone. Probably has a spare in the trunk, but her trunk is usually filled with packages. I wonder if she needs authorization to take all the packages out of the trunk to get to the spare.
The karma god was watching this whole scene playing out thinking, "Alright, I'll give you one last chance to make this right for yourself."
And then you drove right by.

Z found the light-up part of her Elena backpack.
Now she's packing for school.

Took the kids to valley Fair for the 4th. All three usually fought terribly. That day they all got along and we're laughing, especially when they did the bumper cars. One of the best days I've had. The feeling never leaves those memories.
Oldest son's friends have either left for college or are worked ng now. He has spent a lot of his spare time hanging out with our youngest. Youngest doesn't have many decent kids his age, so a negative for our oldest is a huge positive for youngest and hopefully for oldest also.
I wasn't driving so I couldn't stop, but if I was coming home from work I probably would have.
