Zoran Talley

I'm a big fan of Talley. He could provide some needed offensive punch off the bench. Beverly, Talley, and Lewis can hopefully take some of the scoring load off the returners and Wigginton.

So is he Bowie 2.0? Seems to a similar frame, at least he won't be asked to play the 4 as Bowie did.

Bowie's issue was he couldn't play the 5. He played better down the stretch when Young took over down low.

But your point is correct. Talley can play the 3/4. This roster has some versatility. The glaring hole? Outside shooting. Weird.

I think he's more of a perimeter player than Bowie. Bowie was more of an inside scrapper while Talley is more of a Clyburn without a jumper.

If Brase and/or Beverly disappoint, I'd expect to see him play the 4 quite a bit.

I'm seeing more of a Dustin Hogue without much of an outside shot. I've noticed he's a solid passer and has a good handle for his size. Not a ton of tape out there to analyze though.

I'd say there are a few SF/PF players on this year's roster, if they can develop 3 point shooting, will instantly increase their playing time and likelihood of starting.

Yeah, shows how special Ejim was that he could actually do well when forced in that role.

Bowie being a slasher wing vs Bowie being "the big man" was night and day last year. He had some pretty fabulous games once Solomon was a constant in the lineup.

For shooting my hope is Jackson and Wiggington are insane from 3 to mask the rest a bit. I know Jackson has it in him. Thomas and Naz were epic all-time Cyclone 3 point shooters but we all know there were lots of games where Jackson seemed like our most dangerous shooter last year.

I'd be shocked if Wigginton is great from 3 this year. My guess is he shoots in the low to mid 30's.

Much of the time he was still subbing in for Solomon and still playing the 5, but he was much better when he was playing less minutes with some of them against other team's backups. I think some of the smaller guys can still play the 5 perfectly fine, but they just can do it for too long.

I'm all for adding talent and it's hard to pass up a grad transfer wing with 2 years left and my guess is Talley will be a solid interior scoring wing and a very very good defender..

If somehow we can add a shooting guard grad transfer this team then has a shot if not we are going to realize quickly how much this program won behind the arc. We are one 3pt shooter short.. unless Brase can be a 3pt shooting post like he did his jr year..I think a lot depends on him honestly.

I think this years squad will be in a lot of games based on their defebse honestly and Prohm will have a squad he can go 10 deep of need be.

I'm excited to see our inside game with Young, Brase, Lard and Talley. I think Lard is going to be a really nice rim protector and dunking machine as well as rebounder.

You may be correct about trying to add a 3 pt shooter as the staff has been connected to a lot of SG types this spring.
I wouldn't necessarily say it is a need, in fact if Babb, Lewis and/or Long can be solid from deep it would round out the rotation nicely.
I am particular interested if Long can make a jump and get in the rotation, he had a nice shot in HS. Assuming he is healthy now after his surgery if he can regain shooting stroke.
