Would be great to land in state recruits Teske and Shapiro.
I think Carr is going to be tough. Not sure he has ever been in Iowa State room recently. Seen pictures of him with Burroughs recently and quite a few with Stieber and also with Dake lately.
So would think Cornell, Nebraska and Ohio State are after him.

Wrestling recruiting tends to really lean heavily on legacy recruits. Considering David would be the first Carr I have seen not wrestle at ISU, and the need in his weight range, getting him seems like a must.
Would LOVE to get TEske and Shapiro..i think they will both have better careers than Thompson IMO

I didn't realize Stotts is projecting to 165/174 in college..I'd also like him (may help us with Shapiro?)
Millage would be nice too but I doubt he see the lineup until late in his career with Gomez, Storr, Parker around his weight. Would be awesome depth though if we can get him.

With new blood and a fresh coaching regime in Ames, Carr could be more likely to follow in his father and brothers' footsteps. The Cyclones have a need at 157 or 165, wherever Carr lands ultimately.

Hey Ross - Thanks for the links. Are you guys going to do some interviews with the ISU staff soon? Seems like you guys have done about 300 articles and interviews about Mark Perry and the Hawks in the past month..
Yeah, I know what you mean. Even I feel like all I am writing about is Iowa lately. A lot of those opportunities for interviews came at HWC events (their banquet and golf outing).
I have a couple things I am working on for Iowa State (and UNI) that I am hoping now that a majority of the summer wrestling is done we can get back to business now that the focus is shifting back to folkstyle.
Okay good deal! And I get that. But ISU has also had several CRTC outings and it seems to go unnoticed. Love what you guys do though for the state. Thanks!

Really good pick up here. Had Nelson Brands (Hawk commit / son of Terry Brands) on the ropes in the state finals last year. Brands is rated as the #71 recruit in the nation - just to show Lara's skill level. This could end up as a very underrated commitment.

Really good pick up here. Had Nelson Brands (Hawk commit / son of Terry Brands) on the ropes in the state finals last year. Brands is rated as the #71 recruit in the nation - just to show Lara's skill level. This could end up as a very underrated commitment.

If periods were 2 minutes and 2 seconds we would be talking about picking up a state champ. Lara is a dangerous wrestler to try to run the Nelson brands takedown clinic on. Can put anybody on their back. Hopefully he gets a couple teammates to follow.
