Also tonight got my tickets for Rockies - Cubs at Wrigley. So pumped to see a game in that park.
I'm not a big baseball fan but it is much better at the park than it is on TV. I've been to Wrigley one time and it's a great time. Of course we were in the corporate box for a company that we did a ton of business with.

Should I move this to the humblebrag thread?

My Chicago advice:
Take advantage of the trains.
The Hancock Building has better views than the Sears Tower (I refuse to say Willis Tower).
Just walking around most parts of downtown, Old Town and Lincoln Park are really cool experiences.

Amen. There is nothing in Sears that you can't see in Hancock plus you are pretty much right on the lake. The Zoo at Lincoln park is free if I remember correctly. Museum wise Science and industry is the bomb diggity, Field is good, Shedd meh, Art is not my thing so I was bored as hell there. I do highly suggest doing the architecture tour. Never done it or heard anything on it but the mob tour sounds interesting. Two must eat places are Portillos and somewhere with good pizza (Gino's East, Giordano's, Pizzeria Uno).

Completely agree about seeing games in person. Also, while I'm glad I saw a game at wrigley, you definitely trade comfort for history there.

That skydeck though at Sears/Willis, we were chaperones on a school trip and some of the high school kids were terrified to go stand on that.

Science and Industry is my favorite museum in Chicago, but it more fits my kids' interest. Field Museum is amazing too.

Grant Park is nice. I just can't watch a show at Adler Planetarium without falling asleep but that isn't necessarily bad. That river architecture cruise is nice.

I've seen one in person. When we lived in the Bay area, the ex got tickets to an A's game from his employer. I had to look it up to see if it was the A's or Giants because the only thing I remember was that there was a dude trying to get a record of some sort in base stealing. Googling, I think it was Ricky Henderson, and he played for the A's.

That's how memorable it was for me. :)

Ricky be Ricky. He liked to refer to himself in third person. I am so old, as a little girl I saw Vida Blue pitch for the Burlington Bees and the Iowa Oaks.

We did not watch professional sports growing up. You could not pay me to watch hockey or soccer. Not a huge football watching fan (I will watch the Cyclones, prefer to watch at Jack Trice) but hubby watches NFL/the Broncos. Basketball is college only, but again mostly the Cyclones. On the other hand, baseball or now college softball is on almost every night at our house. My daughter has a corner of her room dedicated to the Cardinals and she just added to that yesterday for her birthday. The 2 oldest, hubby, and his dad have been to Busch Stadium for a game. The oldest actually asked to go again as a birthday present but with her schedule there is literally only one weekend in July that would work. A few weeks ago I was trying to get her to bed but she wouldn't go because the Cardinals game was tied and it was the 8th or 9th inning. I did make her go to bed, then they ended up losing in the 10th. She picked #4 for her HS softball number.

She has a good "friend" (not boyfriend) who is a huge Cubs fan. He gave her a birthday gift yesterday--a Molina sign, a Cardinals sports headband, and some snacks. I think he kinda likes her. ;)

Sad news: my grandma passed last night.

It was a good thing for her though. She wasn't doing well and had commented she was ready.

So sorry to hear that Rev.

It doesn't make me miss them less, but I always find a certain amount of comfort when someone comes to the end of their time and admits that they are at peace with the idea.

Prayers to you and your family

In response to last night's talk, I like baseball, basketball, football, soccer, hockey and Star Wars. I'm simply easy to entertain.

Watching the NFL on Sundays was a treat growing up. Same with the NBA. We listened to MLB games out in the fields and went to quite a few Twins games. Empire Strikes Back was my first movie in a theater. I didn't appreciate hockey and soccer until I got older and really paid attention to it, but I enjoy them both now.
