RECRUITING: Hans Brase sets official visit (COMMITS)

Jess Settles as grad student, probably has a ninth year of eligibility?
He's about the same age as Bernie Sanders, right?

They did a great job recruiting the high schoolers, but Prohm and the staff know that this fan base expects to compete year in and year out, and if next year isn't as successful as we have been things might get tense around the program

I'm fairly sure from reading CF that they would be criticized even if they have an undefeated season and a national championship, something along the lines of not enough rebounding, too many turnovers, too low of a margin of victory.

The transfer season hasn't gone as well as the fan base expected, but this will ultimately be one of the best recruiting classes we have ever had and people want to question if Prohm can get it done. PEAK OFF-SEASON PANIC

Cyclones fans in general: HOLY ****! IOWA STATE WON THE NATIONAL TITLE GUYS!

CF Posters: Yeah... but... they only won the game by 90.

I hate being so pessimistic, but man has this transfer season been a disaster for us. If we miss on this guy the coaching staffs confidence in recruiting transfers has to be at an all time low. I don't know how they could sleep at night

It appears that goclones69 projects his own weakness and failing abilities onto our team. I'm thankful he has nothing to do with recruiting or coaching!

Why do we do this? I mean jump to the complete extreme to disprove a comment that is not relevant. Why can I not be excited about the level of high school recruiting while at the same time both disappointed the grad/transfer market didn't hit on our top targets for immediate impact next year, and still positive on the staff as a whole? Those positions don't have to be contradictory nor mutually exclusive.

You can think and say whatever you want as can I. The point is the staff and everyone else knows they can never make everyone happy about everything.

We need the football team to reach some respectability so we can at least wait until we know what our basketball team is actually going to be before hitting the panic button after attempting to read the tea leaves over every transfer's nonactive tweeter feeds and the like.

I'd add that 99% of the fan base have no clue what CSP really wants. Juiston went somewhere else but maybe he wasn't a great fit and the program is better off. We can all read stats but like my opening statement, 99% of us have NO clue how that translates to ISU and our needs.

We have a diverse group here that crosses the spectrum between freaking out on a specific play to others (like me) who are happy with the long game. 1 player will not make or break this program. 1 transfer season will not make or break this program. The freshman recruiting class coming in CAN make the program even better.

And for anyone claiming to have the right to express their opinion - do it until your panties are soiled and the rest of us will exercise OUR right to express our opinion of their opinions.

Maybe not the thread for this and I'm probably not the first one to say it...coming off of a Final 4 season, Oklahoma lost some great seniors but brought in a great recruiting class of top-150 freshmen. They cut their teeth as true freshman and struggled and OU had a crappy year. But this year they will be a preseason top 25 team and their core will still have 2 more years together after this one. I would trade in one sub par season for another few year streak around the top 25, and I think that is exactly what we're gonna see

Didn't OU have trouble because of injuries to upperclassmen this year? Their problems were more than just great freshmen cutting their teeth.
