Bruce Weber Postgame

Bruce looked like a coach who felt his season slipping away last night. He sideline demeanor was more like a drunk fan than a coach last night. He was hammering the refs for a foul call when they just let the shooter get full extension on a push off.

I had to listen to the final 4 minutes on the radio and Heft went on a rant (rightfully so) after he heard an official warn Prohm about being outside the box.

I'm just stunned that Weber can't learn to stay off the court. Thousands of coaches have picked up on this basic skill.

I'm even more stunned there aren't T's to teach him this basic skill.

This wasn't exactly "trash talking" but I thought it was hilarious. Naz had the ball on a fast break, and found Thomas on the wing. Matt goes up to take an open 3 and Naz turns around, throws his arms up, and starts walking back on defense while the shot is in the air.

Thomas missed the shot and K-State got the rebound

Yep, Matt twice had to change his movement down court because the witless wonder, Bruce, was nearly in the center jump circle. Guy may think he's Huggins when he's more to the level of Fran...

I thought he was purposefully defending Matt so he wouldn't get a transition three by changing his path down the court. He lost his **** on how many threes Matt got in Hilton and was upping his personal defense.

I heard that too. Eric seemed genuinely amazed that the ref had the sack to say something to Prohm after Weber spent literally the entire game on the floor.

I wouldn't trade our radio guys for anybody. Nobody has the pulse of the game better than John and Eric.

I think its time we turn this into a Bruce Weber gif thread...

I'm not a fan of coaches that get in the way, but, wow, that was a **** move by Kidd. The coach was barely on the court and easily avoidable. He bee-lined it for him. The fact that Kidd raised an elbow as he went by made it worse. That could have easily started a fight.

If a player legitimately has to avoid the coach, I'm all for T-ing the coach up though. There's a coach's area for a reason.

Move into around the 20 minute mark. He says that our players started talking trash. I haven't seen the game yet, so what's that comment alluding to? Any specific examples?

You guys arent surprised by this, are you? Morris, Burton and especially Long are all trash talkers. It's not news. Nothing wrong with it if you walk the walk and dont cross the line.

I was surprised to see a lot of empty seats. I know a 6 PM tip is a little tougher but not enough to justify that. ISU hasn't had that many seats empty in 4 years.
It's like they only show up for the Kansas game...

Yeah Im well aware, and dont really care. The only time I was really bothered by it is when they talked trash about a team that just blew our shorts off (Iowa)

This. Don't get a technical and dont lose. If you can avoid those two things, let it flow. A little swagger goes a long ways.

It was probably our players yelling at him to get the **** off the floor so they can play basketball.

I never had an opinion of the guy one way or another, other than hearing about him on the news when he was at Illinois and realizing he wasn't much of a coach. But, since he's been at KSU and watching him regularly, his on court, during the game antics drive me crazy.

Agree with Morris and Long, but does Burton really say anything? I don't think I've seen it. The way he plays make it look like he'd be a trash talker, but I think the dude is quiet most of the time.

A bunch of 18-22 year old dudes competing talk trash? I'm shocked Bruce! There's definitely a point where it can go too far but I agree with randomfan (puke). Back it up and don't cross the line and you're fine.

Guys talk trash in basketball from little kid Y games to the NBA. Not sure I have heard a coach whine about it though.

Donovan Jackson seems to have a little swagger, too. It wouldn't surprise me if talked some trash, also.
