Wanted a bigger name opponent IIRC, probably helped our RPI not playing another cupcake but it won't stop the negative posters on here saying "well we only have __ wins!"

ripped my season tickets off of another easy blowout though

I just don't see how you say 17-14 is 90% likely to be in. Even being 18-14 would be on the fence.

Considering we would be viewed as an 18-14 team with very strong RPI, KenPom, BPI and Sagarin rankings I think we would 90% be in

I'm nor sure what's more annoying. All of our "what have you done for me lately" fans or Iowa fans still bringing up the Lickliter era...

I think you're giving the committee the benefit of the doubt here. The fact is we would 17 wins, not 18. If we have 17 wins on selection Sunday, weak bubble, strong bubble, big bubble, it doesn't matter. I'm sweating bullets!

The committee will be well aware we played 1 less games than almost every team out there

Win totals don't matter that much, do you ever here anything about win totals from bracketologists or after the selection comes out? No. It's all about RESUME. Who did you play, where did you play them, SOS, RPI, vs top 50 vs top 100 and so on and so on.

90% chance if we go 9-9 we're in IMO

Depends on who our other 4 wins are against. If we have zero wins against Kansas, Baylor, and West Virginia I think we are in extreme bubble territory and will be sweating it out selection Sunday.

We will probably end up 4-6th in conference so another 1 and done in the Big 12 tourney means we lost against another tourney team.

I just dont think going .500, going 1 and done in KC, and our best wins being at home versus teams like Kansas St, Tech, and TCU will be good enough to get in.

If we lose to Baylor and West Virginia at home we're going to have a pretty impressive road win to get to 9-9

True, I just looked at the schedule, Texas would be the most obvious win but thats not a given. I could see us stealing one at Tech or K-State also. I honestly think the outcome of tonights game and the Baylor game later in the year will determine our tournament fate.

Lose both those games and I think we are on very shaky play-in type game ground. A win tonight would be huge and give us alot of breathing room.

OSU on the road is our best win as things stand now. Do people even look stuff up? Use kenpom? RPIforecast? Look at nitty gritty report on cbs?

Iowa isn't making the NIT.
neither team will be in the NIT. Iowa will be sitting home wondering if Fran can ever get them back to the mediocrity they achieved under his regime, and we will be dancing as usual.

No team from the state of Iowa will be in the NIT except maybe UNI

I do believe we'll make the tournament, somewhat comfortably, and you're probably the most certain of anyone on here that we will.
However, I'm also a realist, and the reality is, this team can be pretty inconsistent.

That said, out of pure curiosity, when is it you would begin to be pretty nervous about making the tournament? Probably not after tonight, and not after Saturday, because we all expect to lose at KU. But what about after a loss @texas? Another loss in Hilton after that?

If we lose the next 3 I'll be concerned. Need to go 1-2 at minimum

And that could realistically happen.

Just not much for 'should wins' this year, and ISU's all over the map as far as what they're capable of. One of those years where what's happened in past years like last second shots falling just hasn't happened...thinking games like OSU in '14 or AT OSU in '14 and their last shot NOT falling.

If they pull it off tonight I'll obviously be more confident...but I was feeling OK about the team heading into last weekend so who knows what will happen.

It's exciting, so there's that.
