Are we seriously recruiting any 5 stars? I don't think our staff wastes too much time on 5 stars. Fred and Matt A did 2 years in a row, but that's water under the bridge now.

By "ever", do you mean under Prohm and in the future, or by "ever", do you mean also in all of history, because we have? Fizer easily was one, as well as Craig Brackins and Royce White:

We even had this discussed with Fred at the helm. I'm going to say 'no'. Unless by some freak of nature we have a kid in Iowa become a 5-star that grows up as an "always wanted to be a Cyclone", which Harrison Barnes did not. lol
Cheick Diallo might have been a Cyclone if Fred would have stayed.
Hoping we can pick up Yetna, he's rated around the same as Solomon and has some decent offers. He's actually a spot higher than Feazell. Seems after how these first few classes have gone, we might have to make our living in the 150-250 range for post players.

I wish we would have given Teddy Allen more of a look. Hope he doesn't wreck us for the next four years when he's at West Virginia.
The staff was giving him attention but he committed to WV prior to his official to ISU. Plus the staff had Feazell committed until the fall as a PF prospect. Hard to criticize the staff too much.
That's so stupid... NC state and Western Kentucky can get 5 star recruits but our staff doesn't want to waste time on recruiting them
Talking about the future. imo you can't have a consistent top 15 without getting 5 star recruits
I'm going to predict our future based on our past and say that we will eventually end up with another 5 Star recruit. However, at best, I see us snagging one every 5 years or so.
ISU will recruit 5 star guys moving forward. The staff was just in to see 2018 Elijah Weaver who some rate that highly last week.

im just disappointed that we didnt capitalize on our recent success... like Washington hasn't been good at all but they somehow pull a top 5 player in back to back years why can't Iowa state do that
everybody that goes to WV will impact us, he plays everyone so they can go full speed, full mugging
I know this gets criticized, but once you get pass the usual blue bloods' top recruiting............ I don't think we have the 'pull' that some of the other programs that are left have..whether thats big wigs like KU amongst Nike,etc., connections in the AAU circuits, back door money, and god knows what else. Don't believe its just because we don't have good enough recruiters. Always surprises me when there isn't more articles written on this topic throughout college basketball and the NCAA.

We'll recruit some 5 stars, but hopefully we don't put all the eggs in one basket like we did for a couple years, as that is a recipe for disaster. It looks to me like Prohm is willing to go after anyone, but he always has options. Our wheelhouse seems to be the 50-150 players, and if we can get our share of those, with good coaching, we'll be very, very good on a consistent basis.
Top notch recruiters and location. ISU is getting better at getting some legit HS kids though.
Yeah Wigginton looks legit and Lewis looks like a solid SG/SF. I don't really know what to expect from McNeill.
To me this class is just missing something...
