Random Thoughts IX (The first 8 were probably better)

Don't like yoga?! Blasphemy! But I'd be upset about those ads too. They certainly do seem to come up with something to make their assumptions about you. The uptick in my Facebook ads from Match and Zoosk have been cracking me up. Is it just as simple as the fact that my FB relationship status is single? Or are they using something else to figure it out?

I think they track and have access to everything. I'm positive their bots are here on CF spying on our posts.

It does make me think I should use incognito for searches and purchases. Looked for Ironman/ Spiderman tooth brushes for my nieces little ruffians and now I am peppered with ads for stuff loosely related to that. And by association with our resident flyboy @wxman1 , I see tons of aviation stuff. Seriously, what is a beagle going to do with an advanced navigation system for a small plane? Snoopy flies visual or dead reckoning, proof they have all the info but don't know everything!

So I have a conference call for the training that I am leaving for next week in a half an hour. It's going to be pretty standard stuff, don't carry your firearm with you on campus, no outside food or drink in the classroom, don't have sex with someone in the woods, you know the basics right.

Man it must suck to be a federal employee these days.

I think it is based on like the cookies you pick up from visiting other websites. Facebook has crazy aggressive data mining and they make money off selling the information they mine I believe.

I only watch Ben Affleck movies in the hopes that his character dies a tragic death as a sad and unfulfilled character.

Twitter is also getting pretty creepy with the ad's in your timeline.

Interesting point there. I haven't actually opened any dating sites in my browser. However, I have googled Tinder, OKCupid, etc., to learn more about them very recently. I haven't dated anyone since my transition, but I think I'm ready to jump back into the dating pool again.

I never have but I would imagine that there has to be someone here that did it at some point.

I knew a guy that started delivering pizzas for Dominos about 1980. He did it because he didn't have to get out of bed early, could smoke weed and get free pizza at the end of the night.
In those days the only starting jobs at Dominos were drivers. They always hired from within. Last I heard he was some district manager in the Chicago area.(That was a long time ago) Not bad for a stoner that didn't want to get out of bed in the morning.
Lol yeah I want to do it because it's easy af and I'll just be driving around town listen to music in my car. But idk if you get paid very good

Yah, all kidding aside it's kinda creepy. Given the amount of time I am online and the number of searches I do, the Google/Facebook Overlords have a LOT of information on me. They know from purchases/searches that I have an Audi A5, know my running shoe size, know what size running pants I wear, know I have a bike and buy stuff for it, know I am an ISU grad/fan, that I read the Washington Post and Star Tribune, check out NY Yankee sites, know what kinda of books I like to buy and that they are Kindle and not print, that I like Danish mid-century modern furniture etc etc. And they always are noodling for more. "Hey, Boxster, to PROTECT your FB account you should add more stuff, particularly we would LOVE to have your cell #"

2017 is apparently going to be the Year of Spam Calls. JFC, California, Georgia, Rhode island and a slew of unknown Minnesota numbers so far. Indiana just called!

Easy fellas...

There was just a FB post in Ames People (one of the worst FB groups, but gives you a local sample) that said people tend to be horrible tippers and the wear/tear on your vehicle plus buying gas makes it a not so desirable job. If you want to drive around and listen to your radio and expect big money, pizza delivery is not the job for you.
