How many QBs are successful in the Pros period? The best WB in football has been the best or one of the best QBs in football for the last 15 years, and is almost 40. The lack of young QB talent has to worry the NFL suits.I think he will grade out pretty well at the combine but how many QB's come out of that style of offense and succeed in the pro's? He really doesn't have anything else to prove talent wise, so his draft stock probably is what it is.
I think I remember that his dad was a really good basketball player and had a scholarship offer from somewhere (Arkansas maybe?). Maybe Dad should have gone that route.I think he's a better QB than his pops was a pitcher.

I like this analysis. I also think there are a lot of good tools in Mahomes. He will need some time to put it together in a pro system . Discipline may not be his strong suit after the expert tutelage KK gave him so who knows if it will happen.Arm strength and accuracy wise, he's a top pick in the draft type of guy.
But his pocket presence at this point isn't good enough to be a good NFL QB IMO. Doesn't step up in pocket. Instead backs up and runs around. Which you can do at times in college but can't in pro's.
If he figures it out, and I'm not sure he can, he could be a very good QB in the NFL.
Teams will think they can teach the pocket presence stuff. They can't teach arm strength or natural accuracy. That alone, will keep him on draft boards. He's not going to be a day one starter, but I'm betting there will be plenty of teams that would take him and stash him to develop.Arm strength and accuracy wise, he's a top pick in the draft type of guy.
