***Iowa postgame thread***

Prohm/Hoiberg did a bad job of preparing for the post-Niang era

Hoiberg gave Prohm a year of Niang, Morris for 1 year fortunately 2, Naz for a year, Thomas for 2, Burton, etc. Prohm needed to add talent to the add to complement them. That's plenty of talent to get a year or two head start in recruiting.

People would have complained if Prohm didn't have scholarships to add players that fit his style to the team if it was all Fred's guys.

There are some good things about this team, but just as many bad. We absolutely need to have intensity and execution- we win by outplaying other teams. Frankly, Iowa looked bigger, more talented, and better coached. Some of that is on Prohm, but we had lofty expectations for a group consisting of a couple solid players and a handful of over-achievers.

Guys like NWB, Jackson, and Young need more time. Prohm may need to bench guys once and awhile. JFC

He did bench players. They all ******* sucked tonight.

Steve prohm is pissed.

Hahaha, what a bunch of whiney ***** negative douches. Who needs Hawk trolls when your 'fans' do the job for you? Do we have a lot to work on? Yes, of course. It sucks to lose to the Hawks, but we have a great core of players, that are going to make some noise in conference, and in March. I do wonder how some of you chicken little types actually sleep at night. I also wonder if some of you actually go without sleep until April to maximize your hand wringing and complaining. We will be fine, despite your worries. Geesh

Monte should be embarrassed.

Prohm should be embarrassed.

Pollard should be nervous.

It's been a LONG time since we've seen an ISU team that looked like they had no clue what they were doing and didn't play with a sense of urgency. That is 100% coaching.

Our best coach graduated last year. Gonna be a long season, I'm afraid.

Gonna go with @ Texas Tech in winter of 2015. Or perhaps the end of the Baylor game in Hilton that year. Or the UAB game.

Not that long ago.

Agree that Prohm and Co. should be embarrassed. Bad, bad loss no matter how you slice it.

This team's offense looks like my 10 yr daughters team. Stand around and watch the ball.
A senior lead ball team should not look like this. Something is very wrong.

Hoiberg left prohm with no young players and left late in the year. The lack of players is a lot on him. Maybe he should have ******* done his job.

We can relax now. Ranking streak is over, non conference home win streak over, and probably post season play over. JP won't have anything to tweet about. Back to McD years

why do you think Fred left for the Bulls when he did. he saw future and it looks like this.
That was the biggest fail IMO. To have a PG like Monte along with some SGs who can (usually) hit the 3 to sell to decent big -- we didn't need Tim Duncan, just somebody with good hands who could make a layup and secure a rebound -- and have to settle for Holden and Bowie. Jeesh.

It might not be the primary reason he left for the Bulls, but you can guarantee that he saw this coming...

From what I understand his celebrity in Ames was sort of out of control, like he walked on water and such...probably didn't help.

I think overall it was an internship for him.
