Oldest daughter had a couple friends over yesterday. One of them moved here from Iceland last school year. She was calling her parents to see if she could stay later and will talk in a 90% Icelandic hybrid on the phone. They also eat quite differently than Americans, so I was almost ashamed of what was in our cupboards. In my defense, we have very unusual cereal eating habits. The girls counted 13 different kind of cereals in the pantry. They had a cereal taste test for her. She did not like anything with a "peanut butter" taste; she did like Trix and Cinnamon Toast Crunch. She also mentioned when they first moved to the US she could not eat just cheese on its own, but now her system can handle it.
The other friend that was here is a legit model. She usually only goes on shoots on school breaks, but she has representation on both coasts. She is one who you would not look at and automatically think, "wow, she should model" but when you see her professional pics they are stunning. (And don't get too excited, guys--she is 13)
