Lindell Wigginton

Haha, if Sexton was our plan B we would be in the perfect situation! I'm assuming you're being sarcastic, but we all know Sexton isn't coming to ISU.

I still really like our chances with landing Wigginton.
You're assumption of sarcasm is correct. Although we are in Sexton's top 6, I know that we're closer to 6 than 1.

I do agree that Wigginton coming here still makes the most sense of any scenario. In addition, he sure seems like the kind of player that should thrive under this coach and would thrive based upon this coach's history with point guards.

Also, as exciting as it was to get all kinds of info about recruits (I don't think Matt A could help himself sometimes), I prefer the "close to the vest" approach of the current staff. Ultimately, we're fans and we don't really need to know too much.

You see, if everybody knows that a recruit is going to commit elsewhere, nobody cares... it's all part of the plan.

But if one little prognosticator flips his crystal ball and says our recruit is gone, well then everybody loses their minds!!!

Not to bring up bad memories, but the day Vaughn announce he was going to give his commitment Jerry Meyer changed his pick to ISU and message board rejoiced... only to change it to UNLV one day later as the winds started blowing to the (mountain west).

So while I would prefer 100% ISU crystal balls given the choice and late changes are concerning until he officially sets a date and announces it is still just a prediction that can quickly change.

Who's Vaughn? (repressed memories)

could have been a really good class, thought he was the make or break for it...since our track record for spring recruits is not good, i hope we can fill with some decent grad transfers, the JUCO market looks pretty bleak this year

Yep, and every day that goes by makes it less likely we get Stokes.

With the amount of experience that we lose, we SHOULD be a top option for landing a couple of good grad transfers.

So this is looking like another recruit that a staff has put 90% of there attention on (Vaughn and Diallo) only to have that kid go somewhere else. They should have taken McKinley Wright when they had the chance of they wanted a high school PG.

McNeill > Wright. 6 months ago I wanted Wright but he really started trending the wrong way

The Virginia Tech prognosticator still says ISU. I'll go with his choice.

Whatever, just do what we always do even though people don't like it for some reason. I'm not trying to be a blueblood I want to win games and play good basketball. Get anyone from anywhere.

facilities- check
fan support- check
pretty girls- check
winning culture- check
what does it come down to? Is it location and scenery that's keeping us back? Is there not enough to do in Ames?

Good thing that was totally this staff who missed out on Vaughn and Diallo.....
